I don't think I would buy that one.
That camera looks the same, but the pictures don't show the video/power cable needed to get into the cab to the Head Unit Bay. You'd have to buy that separately and the power line has a connector attached that you'd either need to find the mating connector, or cut it if and strip the wires back.

How easy would it be for me to add another camera on the front in case I wanted to add one in the license plate or something? (I haven’t received my frac just yet but I do have my front camera mounted)

If you're asking about how to add multiple cameras to the FRAC input, here's a link to something that could work.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01E...qaB2L&ref=plSrch#immersive-view_1507036258396

It has 3 video inputs and one output. You would plug the output into the FRAC harness front cam input, then plug your main front cam input to the default channel of the 3-way switch and then plug up to two video sources into the switcher.

A source select switch would then choose which front cam you wanted for input to the FRAC and would be displayed when the FRAC cam select switch is in the FWD position.

All the Reverse cam functions would work normally.

So this would allow us to put cameras under the side mirrors?

Anyone have tips for getting the wire through the firewall? I'm trying to get the below wire and connector through the passenger side and am not having a lot of luck. I cut off the bottom nipple on the firewall boot but the hold is far too small.

    Thanks

i'd buy a male & female phono connector from lowes, cut the wire, pass it back through the firewall and then use the connectors to well... reconnect.

    Working on it :-)
It will fit. I went from the inside- out. On the inside do a little X-slit to make it a little larger. I then use a fish stick and pushed it through the firewall. I had someone give me a hand to make sure it went through the nipple on the outside, taped the RCA to the end of it, greased it up and came right on through with no problems. Once again do everything from the Inside to the Outside.

Good idea and this seems the smart and clean way of doing it. Unfortunately the interior is fairly taken apart to drive anywhere.

Great call putting slits in the hole and greasing it up! Thank you! I wrapped the connector in electrical taps around a coat hanger, greased it up, pushed it through as far as possible and then pulled the rest from the engine bay.

With multiple attempts my firewall gasket hole is fairly mangled. What has everyone been using to seal the firewall hole once wire(s) are through?

i just cut the nipple off, suck a wire hanger from the inside through the hole where the nipple was, attached the wire to the hanger with painters tape, used pledge to lube it (lemony fresh ;)) and gently pulled it through.

Yes it would. This circuit and one more SPDT rocker switch like the one in the FRAC kit.

I did use a small amount of hot glue to hold it in place. Just a little. Sorry I was not able to take pictures due to rushing putting it on. That small piece in the back of the camera does not come off. It is holding up perfectly. I will try to take pictures of it when i return back home. I just traveled from upstate N.Y. to MO for my daughters army basic training graduation.

I ran a small gage wire from the engine bay to the inside of the truck. Then I attached it right behind the head of the RCA cable then ran it up the head while wrapping it in electrical tape. Lube it up with a little grease and after cutting a small X on the hole I pulled it from inside the cab to the engine bay. Worked like a charm

Just finished my install. Went pretty good. I did have one issue, checked operation and it was good. Put everything back together then checked again, w just key in ac or on. Engine not running. Nothing---sxxt. Took it all apart again w key still in ac position checking all connections. Still nothing. I started it and everything was good n working. I put it back together w truck running and all was good. So I think it was just something weird w the test vs start up. While I took the grill apart I plasti dipped some of the chrome. I hope the pics are good. IMG_1343.jpgIMG_1349.jpg IMG_1396.jpgIMG_1384.jpg IMG_1377.jpgIMG_1385.jpg IMG_1389.jpgIMG_1388.jpg IMG_1390.jpgIMG_1393.jpg IMG_1397.jpgIMG_1398.jpg
