    Hello everyone,

I am going to do my first oil change on my 2013 4.6 Tundra. I have always read that using full synthetics significantly extends the number of miles between required oil changes (sometimes even double the interval). Can any of you Mobil 1 users tell me how many miles you drive between oil changes? I drive a normal combination of around-town and highway but I've put on quite a few miles in the 6-7 weeks I've owned the truck so I want to run good oil.

    Thanks,

    David

I've used Mobile1 syn. since I bought mine in 07. I've gone anywhere between 5k and 7k on my oil changes. All depending on where I've driven, towed or how the oil looks. I have 60k on it and running fine.

I try for 5k but I don't fret it if it goes a little above that.

I run Mobil 1, 0w-30 year-round! I have done some Blackstone oil analysis since new. With the TRD SuperCharger, results indicate that 7-8,000m miles is no problem. I do prefer the TRD oil filters for extended intervals. I do some towing, and hunting off-road. Wyoming temperature extremes generally can go from a low of -20F, to highs of mid 90's F.

I always changed my FJ at 3K miles. Always. Mobile 1 synthetics. Still running like a champ at 143k very rough miles.

I change every year, which amounts somewhere between 2000 and 3000 miles. My wife's Nissan van, on the other hand, is changed every 6 months. Since 6 of us can't fit in my truck, wife's van racks up many more miles than mine. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic for both.

I run Amsoil full synthetic and change it once a year or about 20k miles. 90k and no issues. You should be able to do 15k with Mobile 1 full synthetic

Thanks for the Blackstone link. Gonna send a sample from my 2002 Z71 5.3 liter with 260,000 miles. I've ran nothing but Mobil 1 since day 1, changing every 5,000 miles. Will share the results with you guys.

I was gonna ask if anyone used Amsoil. I was looking at the bypass filter last week, I don't think it will work with the cartridge oil filter.
