called Lexus by me to get service quote. $279.00. Call Toyota by me for a service quote. They said it never needs any service unless you are having trouble? Says it has some fancy named full synthetic fluid. I am coming up on a 100k and am just trying to treat my truck with love and compassion with proper maintenance. Thanks. D

A little of this and a little of that.
If I were you I’d def get her flushed and filled just for peace of mind. 100k is a lot of miles for not changing fluids in anything, synthetic or not.

I just had mine done along with both diffs. Total cost OTD was right at $400. Its hard to imagine any lubricating fluid retaining its protective properties in excess of 100k miles. 'unless you are having troubles' is a key phrase here. Our goal is to prevent those troubles to begin with. Or put another way, I think your dealer is FOS.

First dealer was Maplewood Toyota and then I call Inver Grove Heights Toyota for a quote for flush and fill. They also said it does not need any service unless there are problems. Maybe I will play a little game and keep calling Toyota service depts til I get a different answer. Peace. D

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
Several local dealers in OK gave the same line of shit, when I wanted to get mine flushed. I finally found one that performed the service for $239.99. I watched them perform the service (I was at 130k miles) and let me tell you that fluid was straight black, no red. They were trying to tell me it never needed to be done...

Yeah they must be getting that line from Toyota. I suppose it might have made sense back when the average life expectancy of an engine was 100k. Nowadays, that's just getting broken in, and the transmissions have to keep up.
