    Gavin,
Thanks for going through the trouble to find this.

Can y'all explain how the door sensors work? I'm getting the "door open error chirp" from time to time also. I'll also get a "trunk open" message separate from the other. I guess that's one of the doors. I just want to know what to look for when I'm tracking this mess down. I read somewhere that the system reads off of the dome light. If it's got power something is open. That seems to vague though.

No trouble at all. That's a little difficult to answer it depends on how the install was completed. The dball2 uses the trucks computer and reads the door triggers. If you have a door trigger that is bad or going bad it could give you false reads. The installer could have also used a dome light wire in the kick panel this is less likely because that dball2 does everything for you. I posted a link for the install guide earlier in this thread if it's the G key you have it's install type 9 for reference. I would really look for a viper dealer to bring the truck into. I know you said one place didn't want to mess with someone else's install but I would try another. For what it's worth Best Buy is a viper dealer maybe you could just talk to an installer and throw him a couple bucks on the side. If you aren't sure what your looking for it could take you forever.

I do have lock actuators that are failing. I had the front two replaced under warrenty. After the warrenty expired the passenger side rear started failing & now the front driver side again! All this electrical bs makes me miss my old CJ7.

That could definitely be the cause of some of the issues you are having.

Finally got it installed today. Ran into a few things but manage to get it done. Still need to tie into the factory disarm wire because when I remote start, the factory alarm goes off. I thought the dball2 would've done that. Does anyone know if I can tie into the factory siren, I like the way the factory chirps. If so, do you have a wire location?

Here is the wiring diagram I got. I will specify which wires I used when I have time. The dball2 diagram was pretty straight forward, but still missing a few wires. So I got it from this diagram instead.

I had a Viper 5706 installed 3 weeks ago and I’m happy with it so far. I have to take it back to the installer on Monday because the Viper’s remote start sets off the factory alarm so they are going to fix that.

Yes, they had to program the alarm/ auto start canbus so when you start your truck, the system turns off the factory alarm, then once your truck starts it resets the factory alarm until you push the unlock button.
For now if you need to start it unlock the truck first then hit start. I asked why it didn’t do that when they tested the auto start, he said once you hit the lock button it takes about a minute for the system to arm itself, so he wasn’t giving it enough time during testing.

Thanks. I’m sure that’s the same issue for mine. It worked when I picked it up from the shop and we tested everything. But that’s probably because we tested the remote start right after locking so the factory alarm didn’t have time to arm yet.

same thing happened to me, i added a factory disarm wire to mine because i didn't know if the canbus needed to be program to turn off the factory alarm, i thought they were program to do that the first time when we flash them, but it works now and thats all that matters. I got the 2way lcd display which works awesome in range.
