I do which is why I've always tried to do my mods in good taste, not over top, not trying to result in down the road issues because of them. Very true on ur toyota statement, even when I change something I try to make changes that don't change too much from how the vehicle was originally intended. Hence pro rims bigger tires, stock light housings just tint the white in them, ect.... I try to just make it better without changing it too much. Which is all reasons I like idea of 18 led. But, the out put in low beam I feel I need upgraded. I'm using my BD s8 on a in cab swirch as my highbeams around town and so far love it. Problem is when I go from that down to low beam I struggle to see at night. I fed need to do something decisions decisions. Soon as I decide retro I find a reason to go 18? I guess it's no different than any other thing I've added or changed on my truck. I obsess over the decision for a while then add it to the list of way too much money I've spent on doing stuff to it list.

 

Well if total output is what you are after then go with retrofits. HID retrofits to be specific. you will be happy with the results. Since you are used the your S8's, I think the '18 LED's might not be bright enough for you.

Do you need resistors in any of these? The Rear Tail/Brake lights are not available anymore from VLEDs. However, they do have a V6 coming out next month. Do you need a resistor to use this as a tail light to avoid the hyperflash, or is that only for blinker lights? (new to this)

 

Only blinkers. I ordered a set of the V6's for my front blinker and added their resistor.

 

So the Wife said "put some wheels & tires on my Jeep!"

How's the reception with this antenna? Did you notice a change at all?

 

Very minimal loss. Not noticeable enough to swap it back.

Wide cornering in amber. Don’t know yet. Still installing them! And plus it’s daylight still. Will update later tonight with pics of course. But so far impressed with quality.

 

Awesome glad to hear. That's exact setup I've been very patiently waiting for. I'm trying to prioritize and it's not far down the list. A tune, lighting and some small cosmetic upgrades is all I got left to do. Definitely keep me informed on how u like. I plan to run on street at night and if u remember I'm looking to get better output on road outside the use of s8. Glad someone who's knowledgeable got exact same I've been saying I was getting ahead of me so that I can rely on your input and review before I pull trigger myself, thinking tax time.

 

Sneak peak. Pointed the fog as low as possible. Still has some glare. From what I see his may be off-road lights only!Morimoto on passenger side.

 

Technically they are only for off road, but I've heard of others getting away with on all time. I'm planning to run always, maybe point out slightly might help more.

 

Took pictures of the final product. Very satisfied with the brightness of these lights. And its not even the PRO's!

It’s only money! If you still have holegens you need to swap out! ‘18 leds or retros.

 

Those lights should work very nice in our Nor Cal fog.

 

Thats what i was thinking! cant wait to test it out! I kind want to do the anytime fog mod but I hate cutting factory wiring. Might wait till I get switchpros and just connect my fogs to that.

 

Yes the Siriusled is slightly lighter. A little pinkish but not bad enough to bother me. I think it’s good enough for not needing to add resistors. I would buy them again. I don’t like the vlr Pro resistors because you need to tap into your factory harness for the 921 lights.

 

My interior led lights bugged me because they were 6k and the blueish tint was starting to get annoying. So I ordered the new vled 5k 194 bulbs.

The white ones are from superbrightled and black are vled.


The left light is vled and right is sbl. The sbl is so Blue it makes the vled look yellow even though it’s pure white.


Really happy with the switch. Highly recommend vled 5k led bulbs if you want the pure white light.

 

Seconded. My last car had the blueish white lights and I wanted to stay away from that this time. When I ordered all my LED's I tried to stay in the 4500-5500 range. I really like the bright white glow.

 

Which bulbs did you go with?

 

All my interior bulbs except the vanity mirrors came from superbrightleds. I picked the "natural" color over the "cool". The other bulbs I ordered from vleds and picked 5k. All of them are a bright clean white. The puddle lights I replaced with the ones you found. No color option choice there, had to go with what they had, but I'm very happy with them. The stock puddles sucked.
I don't remember where I got my license plate lights, but it was from one of those two after the freebies that came with the puddle lights crapped out.
