Do the dings on my paper mache doors get any easier to stomach?

Haven't even made a payment yet and I have a damn ding on the driver's side door under the handle. Almost like a pock mark, right on the doors seam. I have a guy looking at it tomorrow but I'm not sure they can do much on the seam like this.

Does it get any easier, I literally feel sick after seeing it. Magnetic Grey is so beautiful, and boy is it going to be a trip to keep pristine.

You know a major reason I didn't go F150 was the aluminum construction. 'its a truck, not a soda can' I said. eating my words now seeing how thin the sheet metal is on the Tundra.

Fucking EPA is partly to blame for this.

That almost looks like a fish eye (paint defect) than a ding... Tough to see from photos

Yeah it's odd, huh? I can't figure out what could even do it like that. It's similar to if I took a small pointed tool like a screw driver and tapped it, just once, into the paint with a hammer.

I'd like to think I would have noticed it over the past two weeks, but now you got me questioning that.

Any clue how dealers handle that when you go to them two weeks and 800 miles later?

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
I purchased mine used! So I never got to put the first dings on my truck. I like this better as I do not like seeing any new damage to the truck during my ownership of the vehicle. However my truck did have a fair amount of dents and dings when I got it, they are not easily discernible. Hell, I still get upset if I notice any new scratches or dents...

So it is funny my brother has done more damage to my truck than I have and he has only driven it a few times. So frustrating...

He plowed a steel cable and telephone pole guardrail down at the lake, the first month I bought the truck. :crapstorm::mad::annoyed:
I was too tired to even argue ate the time as we were just finishing up a 12 mile mountain bike trail. Needless to say he rode another 15 Miles home that day.

He then decided to kick a dent into the front quarter panel because I drove his truck to wal-mart while he was asleep (he was parked behind me). :benchpress::argue:
There was a physical altercation because of this one.

Just today, he was driving me because I was sick and he was messing around with the "Oh shit handle" and somehow broke the tabs loose thus pulling the handle from the side of the truck...FML.

But Its a truck, I try not to get too worked up about it.

The worse feeling is when you are the one who put a dent in your own truck. I did the first one a month into owning it with a shopping cart. It was like slow motion, but couldn't save it. Oh well, now there is like four dent on my bed, same side, but no where else on truck.

First ding is rough. My first full length offloading "pinstripes" made me sick for a couple of days. Now that the truck is a little over a year old, I am finally letting it just be a truck and enjoy it much more.

Dent guy said it wasn't really a dent, more like a paint imperfection. He tried to push it out but felt nothing from the back. Dealer agreed and sent me free of charge to their paint/dent expert. He touched it up with a dab. They basically offered to make it 100% right by stripping area, else the entire door, and repainting. No way I go down that rabbit hole, and end up needing both doors painted to get it all matched.

Anyway, guess I can stop being depressed and sick feeling until the next one.

How does it look now? I feel your pain. Got a gouge a day after buying mine. I touched it up and would take at least a door reprint plus potentially feathering in the other door. I like your approach as who knows how bad that could look. Another one is bound to happen. At least this one wasn't your fault right!

My truck was only a few months old before I added some nice off road pinstripes on it. I had a moment of "what have I done" but then I remembered I bought a tundra and not a cadillac or something. It's gonna get some boo boos if you're actually using like a truck.

    Still rolling stock baby....
I had bought a new dodge ram in 1994, was at the dealership and another customer had bought one and was moving his tools and such from his old truck to his new truck.

Out of the bed of his old truck he pulls a shovel, squares off with the tailgate and swings, that shovel made a hell of a sound and left a good dent and messed up paint. Guy takes the shovel throws it into the bed of the truck yells out first one done, then drives off, I was in shock then laughed my ass off

Sorry, that sucks. I try to park miles from anyone. I cant stand people who use your car door as a stop for theirs.

Resurrecting my old ding post to finish it off... It was a DAMN BIRD! I waxed my truck this weekend. Went in for a drink, an walked out only to watch a bird fly straight into the side of my truck, causing another small ding.

This Meguiars NXT 2.0 is good stuff but geez, I think I'm creating too much shiney goodness!
