I've been a Toyota fan forever and the Tundra body style just keeps getting better, in my opinion. I was finally able to buy my first Tundra, a 2017 Platinum, about 6 weeks ago and I'm loving it. Already had it on its first 4,000+ mile road trip.

So far I've added a Line-x bed liner, Truxedo Lo Pro cover and dual Swing Cases by Undercover. More to come though it will be a slow process. Build list includes replacing factory JBL system, strobe lights, bed lights, floor mats, and whatever else comes up along the way.

First modification I did myself was a power lock for the tailgate. I went with one from Pop & Lock based on users on tundratalk.net. As others have stated, it is LOUD. But it works. I've tried a few different ideas to quiet it, but its metal on metal and you definitely hear it work. It would be better if there were less play in the actuator or if you could get some rubber on the tabs somehow. Heat shrink didn't do the trick, I tried... Still looking for a better solution to quiet the "clank" but otherwise I view this mod as a must. I'm not sure why Toyota doesn't make it standard.

The install was easy. Run two wires (provided) up to the passenger compartment footwell and use that taps provided to get voltage from the factory harness. Took about an hour to get everything the way I wanted to, hardest part was getting through the grommet on the firewall.

Next addition was the BottlePro 2.

They make 2 different versions and I ordered one of each to try. I didn't like the way the Original version rested on the "chrome" trim piece so I wrote the company requesting an exchange and they just sent a replacement and told me to keep the original one as well. Its a husband and wife company and I highly recommend them. I wish Toyota hadn't move to the smaller cup holder size, but this is a great solution for those that like large beverages.

BottlePro (Original) on the left and BottlePro 2 on the right.

2 BottlePro 2s will fit next to each other without a problem.

I'm loving the Swing Cases by Undercover. The hold a lot more than I expected. My biggest complaint is that on the first gen models, one of the pins on the hinge was longer than the other which was to make the case easier to line up. On gen 2, the made them both the same length, so lining up a case with up to 75 lbs worth of gear is a lot more complicated than it needs to be. I am a big fan of the ease of which the cases can be removed if you need bed space which was one of the main factors for going this route. I also wish the design allowed for a larger lock to lock the case in the bed, there isn't enough depth between the case and the lock point to allow for a large lock, and the small locks that will fit can easily be overcome. Luckily they are hidden under the Truxedo cover most of the time.

Welcome from Norcal, and good job with the prompt pics.
Double check and make sure your pop & lock is still locking the tail gate. It looks like they got some lineX on the part that moves. I just happened to check mine a few days ago and noticed it wasn't locking. It was still moving the actuator and making the loud thunk thunk, but not enough to lock. I sprayed it with silicone spray and it loosened up enough to start working again.

Can the swing case be opened when it is in the folded in position? In one of your pics it looks like your drivers side case is sagging..Is it saggy when loaded up? Case looks to be made out of plastic...how heavy duty is it really. Can you flex the case up and down?...is the hinge not beefy enough?

I have a Swing Case so I will answer until someone else chimes in.

Yes, you can open it when in the folded position, but just a little. I will try to grab a pic when I can, sick as a dog at the moment.
I had to use the bed rail lowering brackets to use my tonneau with the bed rails, without going to my truck to look I think that may restrict opening the Swing Case a little bit when in the folded position compared to not having those relocation brackets.

It is made of plastic. Mine doesn't say, but if I have my tonneau open and my windows down I can hear it making a little noise back there while hitting small bumps and going slow, I think it is the play that the bracket allows. I wouldn't call it heavy duty, I'm sure Undercover can give you the max weight recommendations. It's more than enough for what I out in there. Ex. Tow straps, bungees, hitch pin/tounge, flares, tie downs. If you plan to load it with wrenches, sockets, and other heavy tools I would go with a legit toolbox.

For my use, I love the Swing Case.

Awesome. Thanks. Thats what I would be using it for as well, along with some dog stuff (bowl, extra collar/leash) and a few horse items (halter/lead), etc...)
