So I've decided that my current, old, crappy jack is not going to cut it with this truck, especially with the front lifted 2.5" and the rear pending a 1" lift. The POS i have now only goes a bit over 14" which is obviously not enough - I need to get the truck in the air enough to handle putting the rear shackles on, and with 31" tires it barely moves at all with the jack maxed out.

How would you go about getting around this? Stacking blocks of wood seems dangerous, as I'd need more than two. Getting a new jack is expensive, but may be my only option. Do you guys have a regular jack that goes well over 20" maxed out, do you use offroad jacks, or do you have some other tool or trick to get your higher-than-stock Tundra in the air?

    Wow those are nice jacks.

I don't have his problem because mine is stock. However, if I needed to, I would use a 6"x6" block cut from a post and my 3 ton floor jack.

Do you have jack stands? You just need a block of wood temporarily on the jack to get it high enough to get the jack stands under. You should not be under your truck with just the jack alone.

2.5 front. Not enough height for the sides but perfect for rear diff.
I'm using the frame on the side.

Yup, always use jack stands. Finding a block of wood is proving harder than thought - picked up a 2x4 at ace and hand-sawed it, but that's obviously only adding 2" of height. I figured cutting a few more slabs off and gluing them together might work, but that's where I'm worried about integrity of the makeshift "extension".

Those jacks by SDHQ look pretty sweet but that's the price tag I'm trying to avoid - for now.

Nothing. Just the cost of powder coating vs raw.

    Some stuff
I have a Craftsman 4 ton and 4 12 ton jack stands. No idea why I have 4, I've only ever used 2 at a time. Also a 48" HiLift with a slider adapter.
