Does anyone have any info or reviews on this bumper? I'm looking for a replacement bumper and this looks decently promising. BUT I've never bought anything from e-bay, and I'm concerned about the quality because the price is so low (about $600). Looks like a great bumper, at least for looks. I don't offroad often, so looks is more what I'm going for, just don't wanna be breaking the bank for $1500 bumper that doesn't have a whole lotta use for me.

I've read some Jeep reviews and the guys seemed to like them, but I need the Tundra family's input.

Mounted mine this weekend. Very easy install. Had to chase one of the adjustment slots as the coating was pretty thick. Took about 2 hours start to finish and retains factory tow hooks, though takes 2 people to get the spacing even on both sides. Light slot holes are 15" center to center and the 4 fog light mounts are set for 3.5" lights. Came with D-rings as well.

    Edited Weight specs.

    Winch - 75#'s
    DV8 bumper - 157#'s
    Factory bumper assembly - 62#'s

Net gain with bumper and winch is 170#'s. Swapping to synthetic rope and hawse fairlead would save another 25#'s or so over the steel line and roller fairlead.

    Tensioned winch line as well.

Please tell me what winch you are using that only weighs 57lb. This sounds like BS.

Right? I appreciate your response! The weight we add to our trucks is so often overlooked, and these 1/2 tons are running overloaded pretty often. I'm carrying over 1000lb permanent payload with my gear and adds.

I ordered a front and rear bumper from them last week on Thursday. I didnt get a tracking number yet. Ill update if I do.

    UPDATE:

I was able to get DV8 offroad on the phone who is apparently the actual manufacturer of the bumpers. DV8 said its not normal to get tracking numbers with "large freight items", so that explains the no tracking numbers. KO Offroad had the bumpers "drop shipped" from DV8 directly, so DV8 was able to verify that the bumpers have been shipped out and were delivered yesterday to Houston. They should be out for delivery this afternoon. So true to their word, they will be here in 5 days and 2 of those days were the weekend... fast shipping for 250lbs of freight!

By the way, if anyone is curious, their rear bumper works with our factory hitch.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
I have this bumper, I ordered it from KO off road. paid $ 600.00 but it came scratched. got $150 off. repainted it. I got the 3.5 inch lights that replace the stock fog lights.
I wired them up to the original wire loom using the fog light switch on the steering column. I fabed a winch hole cover plate too. I didn't plan on a winch...yet. I used stainless steel wire mesh screen to cover the cut out holes for the upper winch access and the lower air circulation holes. It was and easy mount, comes in to pieces ( winch cradle mount, and bumper) I had to cut in my parking sensors also as it did not come with those holes. I just used a tinplate of the stock hole and used a drill to cut 8 small holes (used a 1/8 drill bit) then I used my largest punch and single jack hammer, knocked it out. Cleaned up the hole with small die grinder, to clean up the holes from the drill bit. Try and drill small holes as close together as you can. This parking sensor hole is NOT round as many of you know.
I did long gate the three holes to mount the bumper to the cradle tolerances, seamed to tight and I like a snug fit to lower grill and lower valances which are plastic.152.jpg 154.jpg
Sense having the bumper for some time now. I still really like it and couldn't be happier.... still need a winch though... I'm working on RCI skid plates first... :spending: Hope this helps ya'll

You know, this is a debate me and my buddy who has a 2010 Tundra have had as well. So I didn't like the 2014 Tundra body style at 1st. Then it grew on me slowly so I purchased a 2014. My buddy's big complaint with the 2014 is because of the grill redesign, it causes pretty much all bumper to be lower than many designs on the 2007-2013 Tundra. So yes it seems a little lower, but I think this is due to the Tundra's design on the front end. I did measure it before and after with the stock bumper and I can tell you it has a higher clearance than the stock bumper did.

Now look here at a stock 2007 Tundra, notice the plastic piece between the bumper and grill area.2007-toyota-tundra-sr5-double-cab-6at-2wd-truck-angular-front.png

Now if you look at this example below of a aftermarket bumper, they still have a section of metal as a "spacer" between the bumper and body to fill that section where the plastic use to be. This will essentially keep the bumper at the same height not really improving the approach angle much.
    F143845302.jpg

Now if you look at this next bumper below, this company took the opportunity to suck up that space and be able to mount the bumper higher up on the frame rails increasing approach angle.
    F143869031.jpg

Unfortunately the 2014 Tundra does not have that plastic spacer to allow more room for an aftermarket bumper to be placed higher up on the frame rails as was possible on the previous generation.

Ok, so 1st let me start by saying, if you have read some of my other posts, I have mentioned that I am a certified welder. I no longer weld for a living but at one point in time I did so I know a fair amount about metals. When I purchased my 2005 Toyota Tundra 4x4 about 6 years ago, I wanted to put a high clearance front bumper on it. One of the 1st bumpers I ran across was Fab Fours. The look of it impressed me. I enjoy researching and never make spontaneous purchases. To be honest, I probably research stuff WAYYYYY more than necessary. Well having experience with metal, I contacted Fab Four and asked them what time of metal they use to build the "tube bumpers". At that time, they informed me they use .095 wall tubing. To most people this may not mean much, but to anyone who knows a decent amount about roll cages, sliders, or a REAL tube bumper, .095 wall tubing is weak. I ran across a company called "Addicted Off-Road" out of Colorado. They also made a somewhat similar tube bumper, except they build it out of .120 wall DOM. This is usually considered the "standard" for most roll cages and sliders because it is strong and stands up to abuse. Most rock crawlers will not accept anything less. Also for the price at the time, Addicted Offroads bumper was about the same price as Fab Fours. Also at this time, Fab Four didn't have a winch mount option for their bumper. To be honest, it makes sense they didn't because I don't personally think that thickness of tube would stand up to the stress that a winch would put on it.

How are the 6112s with the weight of the bumper and winch?

I don't know all the back history on 6112s, but someone told me they use to come with 600 lb springs and that they recently upgraded them to 650 lb springs. I don't know if this is true and maybe helped with the extra weight, but they are great. I put the bumper and winch on before the 6112s and it had a lot of body roll with the extra weight. It also had a lot of nose dive when breaking. Now with the 6112s, it handles very well. Almost sporty when on the road, but yet still is very smooth over large bumps. I will put 6112s on every vehicle I have from now on. They are the best suspension I have ever rode in.

I installed a Engo 12,000 winch on mine and relocated the solenoid box under the hood of my truck. A lot of people do not do this but if the solenoid ever fails years from now, I can simply undo 2 screws under the hood and replace it. If the solenoid was mounted on top of the winch as most do, you will have to pull the entire front bumper and possibly the winch off the bumper to replace it. So to me, remote mounting the solenoid under the hood is a "no brainer". It will also keep it cleaner and out of water so it should last longer. This is my second Engo winch. I still have the first one on my 2005 Tundra 4x4 and it is almost 6 years old. Ive used it HUNDREDS of times to pull out other people as well as myself. Never had a single problem. I found this winch brand from a "winch shootout" that a popular 4x4 magazine performed years ago. The Engo beat out almost every winch (including Warn). They also have a lifetime warranty on the structure, gears and other non-electrical parts. They are also fully rebuildable if you ever need to. For the price, you can't beat them. The people who created the company Engo also use to work for Mile Marker so they have a long history with winches. I HIGHLY recommend them. Here is the cheapest place I found currently:

    http://www.rockridge4wd.com/i-21251...x-85-heavy-duty-roller-fairlead-97-12000.html

Also if you search around google, you can usually find a 10% off code in addition to this sale price on the winch.

Also get a steel cable. It does not add but 22 lbs and it is far tougher than synthetic rope. Rope can freeze if it gets cold where you are. Also sun will make the rope deteriorate. If you get sand in the rope it can make it rip. Cable has none of these problems. Cable also makes the heat dissipate faster from the drum brake that is located in the spool. The cable acts like a heat sink where rope actually holds the heat in making the winch run more hot. Just spray the cable down once every 6 months with WD40 while its rolled up on the winch. It takes 10 seconds.

TBH I was overly impulsive and bought a synthetic 12,000lb by dyneema. Got a good deal on it but now I know oh well
