Thought that id go for the "headline click bait" here and post up some Jeep crap (shit for the older audiences) that I put on the back of my truck.

Since the only big spare tire solutions out there were very limited and would tie up my bed space I went with doing the following.

Works great, no noise, no rattles, should not fly off, and should not be an issue for years down the road. I need to not be lazy and take it all apart again and have it all powder coated.

My bed space was worth loosing the back up cam (temporarily) for a while. Think that I can make an extension wire harness and re-locate it back on the tire carrier.

Nice. Works as a tailgate lock too.

Yup. A little added security all the way around. Just want to be absolutely sure that this latch dose not come loose. Last one that I built for my Taco came unlatched. Lucky I didn't smack a car or telephone pole with it.

LOL nothing Ive got seems to fit in a normal garage! Heres my new garage in Alaska so I think that it will go in there. I can still add a couple of feet of roof rack!

Looks good! :thumbsup:I would powder coat that lock hasp for the finish! And run a high security cable or chain through the spare. Locking lug nuts work, but another deterrent is helpful. Nice job!

Went by my local Yoda dealer this morning for a couple of misc nut, bolts, parts for the BJ40. The salesman and service advisor "crowd" come out to have a look at the The Big Black Moose. :D First time that I have been up there with this truck since I bought it. They had seen my Taco for the last 10 years or so were all shocked to see what I had done on the Tundra leap.

Kinda reminds me of the old 4runner spare tire mount.

You and @Thegr8punkin would get along good with Jeep swingout tire carriers.

    Looks good. Any regrets?

what kind of leaf springs are you running? With all that weight it still looks level. What's your rake before all the weight?

No regrets. The extra beef under the bumper to the frame makes it all happen. Its a must have especially when its open. No issues at all so far. I didnt weigh the carrier or the spare but I think that I am around 140 pounds for both.

The tire carrier is not all that heavy. I think that the tire weighs more than it dose. Im guessing 140 pounds for both. Those are stock springs with a 6" Rough Country lift.

After driving and towing for a while Im heading to my leaf and spring guy on Monday.

We are tearing out the stock rear leafs, heating them up and re-bending them, and then adding two additional new leafs to each side. Will be custom bending new thicker diameter u bolts as well.

The stock ass end on any pick up is pretty weak to begin with. Tundra are no different so with the added weight of my carrier, the big tire, and two jerry cans of fuel way back aft Ive really got no tongue weight left.

She needed "ass implants" anyway so now is the time to beef her up for some serious towing.
