Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the existing mechanical passenger seat frame with the motorized fully adjustable as a retrofit? My wife loved the Tacoma seats that weren't as tall and more adjustable. She is uncomfortable with the 2015 tundra Limited seat. The truck that was available did not have the upgraded passenger seat option.

Look under the seat and see if there are any unused electrical connectors. Toyota tends to use the same harness regardless of final options. If the seat adjustment connectors are there, it should be an easy upgrade. Otherwise you'll be needing to break out the wiring tools and electrical diagrams.

It should be cheapest to find a totaled vehicle and purchase the seat. You can then find someone to change the upholstery and put the one from your original seat. I don't know if the seats for the leather and fabric trim are exactly the same or if they use different padding.

Problem is finding one totaled. I haven't been able to find a 2nd gen Tundra at a pull your part, let a lone a 3rd gen here in Metro Denver area. Good idea though.
