I went 60 miles past the 0 miles to empty but my cheeks were clenched so tight I put a permanent ridge in the middle of my truck seat.

Yea you normally have 6-8 gallons left in the talk when the display reaches zero, but supposedly Toyota wants those few gallons in there to keep the fuel pump cool.

Same here. First year owing the truck, we were in California and in a spur of the moment decided to take the scenic route without looking at the gas gauge. Halfway up the hill the low fuel light came up and there weren't any gas stations until the bottom on the other side. I have the 26 gallon tank and when I made it to the gas station I put 24.4 gallons:eek:.

Lol, I put it to the 38 Gallon test when I first got it.. I drove it around when it said 0 miles low fuel for another day and half. I filled it up at 36 1/2 gallons. Maybe a few more miles it would have shut down

As a force of habit I usually fill up when the needle registers between half and quarter of a tank. I guess I'm not as adventurous as others.

i am one of those nut jobs that always likes to push the limits. I have ran out of gas at least 4 times haha. Filling up when there is more than 1/4 of a tank is a waste:p

When my 2017 SR5 CM hits 0 I have 8 gal left in the tank. That means I have ~120 miles left before running out and looking like a fool.
