Tomorrow bow season begins for Whitetail deer here in Western NC. Each year I always practice before the season begins with my Excalibur 335 micro and making sure my Vortex scope is dialed in. I set up a 20 yard bow range in the basement, it works out pretty good.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
I have to wait until October 1st, where I am at. I have been running my trail cameras for the past month and am about to go check the pictures this weekend. I still need to order some new bolts and broadheads...I despise mechanical broadheads.

I like it, lighted nocks are the way to go. Have you found any decent mechanical broadheads? I have tried at least 5 different brands and models, but they all end up opening prematurely or breaking, etc.

Yes, lighted nocks are handy I use Griz Trick 2's. They have worked very well for me with Zombie Slayer bolts. I have my 18" bolts custom made by a place in called Southshore Archery in Florida. They turn out pretty decent custom bolts. I don't use mechanicals, I just don't care for them either. I have had really good luck with Griztricks. Our season runs to Jan 2. Bow runs the entire season along with black powder and then rifle which have their own time periods.

Nice Excalibur! I have a Matrix 355 and it can flat out shoot. Don't even have to worry about deer ducking the arrow. I have to wait till the 30th. Good luck this season.
