Sounds to me like you are in the market for a good rifle. Every man needs a centerfire rifle!

well apparently, my options just opened up.. I was in my local sheriff's office this morning talking about pistol purchase permits...

Sheriff - why don't you save yourself a bunch of hassle and just get a CCW permit
me - in case you can't tell from this accent, I'm not from here and don't have citizenship
Sheriff - you don't need one for CCW since you're a Green Card holder
me - I'm pretty sure you need to be a naturalized citizen, no?
    Sheriff - I think i should know?
me - valid point... (while simultaneously googling the next available CCW course) see you very soon...

So will be back here soon looking for more recommendations on how i should spend my money...

Since this didn't get addressed, depending on your state laws you can post them on Armslist and sell them private party, or possibly put them on gunbroker if you have the means to ship them properly

How do you like that minimalist stock? I was thinking about one of those for a build I'm working on.

I like it a lot. My work rifle has a b5 stock that's thick and heavy. The minimalist is great for keeping weight of. Cheek weld is good too.

A couple shotguns. A 12" barrel Dominion Arms Grizzly (Chinese 870 clone) and my most recent, an ATA Etro 14" barrel pistol grip. It's around 26.5" overall and what I pack when hiking. The Grizzly is the funnest to shoot though, 12" barrel kicks like a peeved mule with a 3" slug. Lotsa fun. 12323bc512877bcbcbc7e0e0c71c9a07_511f429957e498bb995634d98966c17139198ee5.jpg

God, I love the US. Wish I could figure out a way to get a green card. Always wanted to try living down there as visiting has been a treat every time. I'm a gun guy too, so it'd be like paradise to me...

Green card via marriage is Def. Easiest. Even if you get divorced, you keep the residency. H1b conversions are much harder to find these days.

Two of my friends recently married American girls. Unfortunately, my girlfriend/pretty-much-wife is Canadian.

I had no idea non-citizens could join the US military. Veeerrryyy eeeenteresting...

One cat I knew was working construction here for a while and decided he wanted a change of pace. Went to the recruiter got everything he needed and all of the legal papers in order and became a crew chief on 60s. This was 23 years ago. Then there was another cat that was an infantryman and became SF. Does it always happen? I don't know. I am just saying I have seen it happen.

A really quick search shows that I'd still need a green card to apply to the US military. I haven't dug too much deeper, so that may not be completely accurate. I guess to get a straight answer I'd have to contact the USCIS. I may just do that, if for nothing else to satisfy my curiosity.

I'll be 29 next year, so I doubt I'm too old for boot camp (friends in the Canadian Forces have asked me to apply there). I'd have to have a pretty serious sit down with my lady to see what her thoughts on the matter were if we were to undertake even a semi-permanent move south.
