I have a 2008 Tundra that I am having issues with the transmission. They keep telling me the transmission is building up too much pressure and it is causing tranny fluid to ooze out around the pump seal and shaft seal . Had the transmission rebuilt in April by a local reputable transmission shop because the local Toyota dealer was giving me the run around I felt and did not want to address the issue until it was out of the extended warranty. Anyway the transmission is now doing the same thing according to the shop that I took it back to. My first thoughts are if all valves and solenoids were replaced during the first rebuild what could possibly be causing the internal pressure problem? The shop that has the truck said they really are not sure what is causing it. My question is have any of you Tundra owners had this issue with your Tundra? Love the truck but this issue is troubling to say the least. Thanks

Did the local rebuild shop warranty the rebuild? If so, I would take it back to them and tell them to call you when they have it fixed.

LOL!! yes it has a year warranty on rebuild and that is pretty much what I told them this morning when I took the truck back to them! I was just trying to understand why it can be building excessive pressure if all the valves and solenoids were replaced at the rebuild and I really hate to think like that. This shop has been in business for a lot of years and has a good reputation. That is why I took the Tundra there in the first place

Sounds good. Sorry I can't help. Hope everything works out. There's nothing more aggravating than a problem popping back up after you paid big bucks to have it fixed.

Thanks--yes it is frustrating for sure. Love my Tundra--just can not imagine mine is the only one on the road having this issue but I have found no mention of this issue anywhere on the internet. Thanks

Thanks--certainly hope the shop has checked these but it will be brought to their attention!
