As a seller, I try to make everyone happy. I also try to make the install easier by installing the bulbs and igniters. Again, its nothing wrong with the projector, this is how they come from the factory.

IS IT REALLY HARD TO REMOVE THE BULB AND RESEAT IT TO MAKE THE SHAKING STOP?? I told him I will be more than happy to remove the bulb and install it tight if he sends it back. I dont understand why hes making it seem like the projector is failing. The projector works 100%.

Just like with any cheap part, you can expect it to have some defects. Though it will work. Something like this is a simple fix. It literally will take 2 minutes to seat the bulb correctly and stop the shaking.

About the core exchange lights. As I stated to him, The return address was on the shipping label. No where on the invoice states that theres a shipping address for the core exchange lights. Most of you know I recently relocated. The invoice business address has been updated the day I moved, though his invoice was sent a month prior. And again it does not state that its the address to send the lights to.

I receive emails from UPS and Fedex when a package is on the way. When I seen the (delivered) email and no package at this address, I check the tracking number from the UPS email and seen it was delivered in GA. No one is at that address and no one informed me of any package. Now I have to pay someone to go to the location, check to see if the lights are there and ship to me.

BUDGET RETRFOITS IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE!

When I install the bulbs, I dont install the lights back on my truck and drive around to check to see if its shaking. Im installing bulbs as a courtesy for others so they have less work to do.

I even offered to install the Mini D2S 4.0 Projectors with no labor charges. Though I dont see that he mentioned that. Only negative reviews. And I really dont understand why hes blaming me for the core exchange lights being lost when I did not ship them.

We have already worked out a solution that I will be installing the upgraded projectors for him, But it seems as though hes trying to continue to blame me for everything. Im working on trying to get a hold of the core exchange lights to try to get this sorted out.

For those do dont want retrofits anymore, I completely understand. I apologize for this thread and differing you away! Just know that I do stand by my work 100% and although sometimes things go wrong, I always try to offer a solution to fix it.

In this case, there is no broken projector, no leds failed, no harnesses failed, no paint chipping or pealing, no moisture issues, no fitment issues, no alignment issues, no damaged lens, no damaged shroud, projectors are working 100%, no broken tabs on the headlights, no damaged housings etc. All this is, is a simple bulb thats not secure 100% which can be re-seated and secured in a matter of minutes.

I buy all parts from The Retrofit Source. They do not sell products that wont work. Again, nothing wrong at all with the retrofits. The quality of my work is 100%. Only issue is that when I installed the bulbs, they werent secure (again I install them as a courtesy, Im the only retro-fitter that pre-installs bulbs and igniters to make it easier for customers).

He did not receive a none working product, Everything works 100%. Just a bulb that needs to be reseated. THATS IT!

    Leo,
I've told you several times In emails that I have tried several times to reseat. I am currently doing it now. Reseating the bulb is not working. So this is not just simply a reseat of the bulb. I posted a video showing the bulb was tight two days ago. Yes you said if I bought the morimoto you would install them no charge. I replied with i will pay 110 for the morimotos since they cost 150 at trs and the acmes cost 40. So i return the acmes and pay the difference. I then said since I've already paid 100 in shipping that I would pay to ship the retros back but you need to cover shipping of anything you send me which would be my oems and the retro s when done. I will ship the oems back once I receive retro s. You never replied to that email therefore no agreement was made. As a matter of fact I didn't hear from until i sent you an email today about the core exchanges at 9 at night.

Op did you say $860? I paid less than that for a RX350 retrofit with painted housings and smoked turn lenses. You guys need to shop around before jumping in.

I paid 860 total which includes the core exchange that I am going to get back. So really only 560.

    To all,
Leo and I finally got to talk on the phone. Our entire communications have been via email which can sometimes make things diffucult. After a healthy discussion, both Leo and I agreed that 1 his retro fit work is great and there is zero issue with his work and 2 that this acme projector has a bulb seating issue so it's just the product itself.

I assumed that I was going to send the lights on my truck back for a morimoto install after he sent me my oems. Leo went one step further and offered to retro my OEM lights with the morimoto projectors and still give me the core exchange refund. This way we are not shipping a bunch of lights. I thought that was more then fair.

Like I said in an earlier post Leo's work is top notch and this was just a projector issue.

Bottom line Leo offered a solution that was fair. This is the customer service that I've read about Leo and his business.

I stated in an early post that Leo must have had someone tell him my OEM headlights arrived at his old business since I didn't give him a tracking number or tell him I shipped. I opened my mouth before I researched. Turns out ups does notify businesses that there is a package enroute when it's shipped. For that I apologize if I mislead anyone to think that Leo was being dishonest.

Once again Leo and I have everything sorted out and I am a happy customer.

    This is great news.
Hopefully it worked out equally well for both parties. Both seemed equally frustrated.

Glad it worked out for you. I am sorry you had to deal with all the time and hassle to get it sorted out. In my book, there is a lot of value in lack of hassle; and of course, time is money...

This is why you retrofit: first image is just streetlights, second is low beam, third is high beam.

    Mini d2s 4.0
Even though I installed them myself using the "easy" threaded shaft method. It's still a pain in the ass aiming them properly.

That's the reason why retrofit labor is $$.
When I was looking to get someone to do them for me, I contacted elo and his corrrespondence with me was top notch.

    Glad to see this resolved.

what ever happened with these? did you figure out what caused the shaking? I was doing more work to my retrofit today and screwed up the leveling motor on one side as i lost the washer. That caused enough play that if i didn't fix it, would have caused the shaking you experienced. Luckily, i realized what had happened and now, with the JB weld & the washer, they feel rock solid. Curious if this was your issue?

Just a couple things that didn't get mentioned with stock vs retro. I've been driving Tundras since 2000 and starting with the 2nd gens have very often been flashed when only my low beams were on. Not just flashed but other drivers would switch to high beam and just leave 'em on. It was so bad, so frequent that I bought 100w high beams to teach 'em a lesson, but I couldn't bring myself to actually install 'em though.

So the problem with the stock lights is they're ancient (I'm talking back to Roman times) reflector technology. The light is scattered and sent in myriad directions. I've found the yellow caution signs alongside the road nearly blinding due to stock headlights. Projectors on the other hand, focus the light much more effectively at the road and have a very definitive upper "cut off". When I stop behind another car at night, I can see exactly where that cut off is and adjust the headlights down if they're shining in the other cars mirrors,,,, and I'm feeling kind. lol I have only been flashed once in the past 16 or so months, a record for me in a Tundra.
For me, the retros were worth it and I feel oncoming traffic is safer.
