Whats bedliners do you all have? Are the spray in worth the extra money over a drop in style?Currently I have a drop in in my dodge an it holds up well to pitchforking mulch, but I wonder if a spray on would hold up as well...

The way that was explained to me is that with the drop in, there will be dirt, etc that will get in between the bed of the truck and the bedliner. Since the bedliner vibrates as you drive, the dirt will cause minor scratches to the paint. this in turn will lead to rust. I got mine sprayed and it feels solid.

I have the OEM drop in. It's 8 yrs old and the bed underneath is like new. Literally. Dry climate doesn't hurt. Don't think it was ever used to haul dirt, etc since my truck belonged to a local PD Gang Investigation Unit before I got my hands on it. (may have hauled donuts) I've been procrastinating on this for some time now. Glad I did. Just talked to my bud in Anchorage. He swears by Durabak liner(DIY). Uses it on all his boats and trucks. Even uses it on his lodge's decks and the aluminum decking his guests use to fish from on the Kenai River. If he says it's good, it's good. He doesn't like wasting his money or time. I've been there and anything that can withstand those conditions has to be good, so I am ordering enough to do my bed and 17 foot trailer.

yep bank account is running low from it..
Mine a 03 had a bedliner when I got it. Needless to say I dont like them one screws up paint and two if water gets between liner and bed the water sits there and screws up the paint worst starting rust.

Last year I tossed my bedliner (factory) for a bedrug. When the old liner came out guess what.. I had a half day plus of SANDING do to the liner diggjng in the paint. That said I had to sand and use a primer epoxy to seal what the liner had did damage and this was to protect the bed? NOT.

Bedrug is soft doesnt hurt the paint plus it breathes to get rid of moisture. I have bedrug on my tundra and tacoma and love them both. Worth there money and made in america and there warranty is very nice.

BedRug is nice and they can take a beating and still look good. Comes in handy if you have a topper and need to spend the night because you spent the day recovering Dodge import trucks. heh heh.

I may still consider a BedRug after Durabaking the bed. I had a BedRug on my 09 Taco and loved it.
What's weird, I requested a Durabak color sample and I just got a email back. Durabak is located in Aurora, CO a couple of miles away. Will go there tomorrow and get first hand look.

I have a drop-in liner in my box and zero issues so far. I like the fact that I can literally bounce heavy stuff off of it without denting the bed. I also have Line-X on my tonneau and that stuff's been basically bulletproof. If I ever decide to yank the drop-in, I'll definitely be replacing it with Line-X.

The most popular liners seem to be Line X and Rhino liner which are proven performers.
I am going to Durabak's today after work. I want to see for myself. Want to know what kind of warranty they have, etc: http://durabakcompany.com/

Here is one review I found:http://www.4x4review.com/diy-bed-liner-durabak-vs-lava-liner/

Im going to have to look into this Durabak stuff. If i can buy the paint and the spray gun and get it done for a couple hundred $ then im in. $500 to get the bed line-x'd.

spray in is the ONLY way to go. mine came with it from factory. its ok have some chips and scrapes from stuff cutting across it. however LINE X is way better than the factory and it can take a beating.

I actually called LineX last week and they say theirs if 5 times thicker and better then the Toyota factory spray in. Of course i did not know whether or not to believe the guy.

Im trying to decide if i want the spray in from the factory or just wait and do the LineX in a few years when the truck is closer to paid off.

I had to go to Ft Collins today. Going to Durabak tomorrow and take a look. There are a lot of quality liner products out there as good or better than Line X and Rhino. Durabak advertises in "Dirt Sports & Off Road" magazine. Definitely for DIYers. Lava liner is one of the toughest but hard to DIY. Bullet liner is the new kid on the block, but a re-engineered version by the inventor of Rhino liner out on his own. Based out of Georgia. There are a few Bullet shops in the south if you don't want to DIY. If I can save $300 or more for something as good or better, then that's an easy decision for me.

Don't know about that. Line x isn't very thick (at least mine's not) but it's tough.

If you do it yourself you can use several coats and still have less invested than paying someone to do it. If you don't have a compressor, rent one. Spray bottles aren't too expensive either. Just need to buy a 1/4 inch nozzle and painters tape to mask. I am very skeptical with the 5X thicker than factory. Sounds like sales pitch. You can request samples from the various liner suppliers and do your own comparison.
