Arthur, everyone is welcome here from the lowered and bagged to the lifted and off-road ready. Fairly new forum still and we haven't seen many of the lowered trundra guys or the large wheel guys. You should stick around around and help push more of those guys to this forum.

Gimme a break. Question was answered on post 4 with @Sean266's link. For those who don't feel like reading, oh well, so sorry your generation wants everything handed to them on a silver platter.

Rim diameter has nothing to do with what will fit. What it boils down to is overall diameter and width of the TIRE paired with wheel offset/backspacing. Makes no difference if you wanna small wheels with big meat, or big wheels with rubber bands. Everything after was just normal forum opinions and BSing. You were looking for insight ...well you got it. You got the insight and opinions of the population of the forum.

    Working on them now...
I don't think there's an issue with what you want to do but it doesn't sound like many if anyone on here has explored the option of 26" wheels. I would be happy to help you if I could but as others mentioned you would need to look at what's availible in 26" and what width and back spacing they are to determine if they could fit without modification.

Well said. I am for whatever anyone wants to do as long there are no compromises on safety. Some state ares already cracking down on rubber band tires/rim diameters/speed ratings, etc. Certainly something worthy to discuss and opine about like you stated previously.

Stick around. Nothing wrong with what you want to do. Just a little unusual (to my old ass) to see a "slammed" look with a 4 x4 that will actually go off road. If you don't off road much, not a big deal from a clearance standpoint.

No I don't offroad at all, I got the 4x4 for bad weather conditions. It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and and not have it. "My generation wants everything handed to them" ??? I asked because a local wheel and tire dealer said I may have to "grind" away some the inner wheel well in the front. He said the might scrub. I've seen that on Chevy Tahoe, but not on tundra. I want the look, but not that bad!

Alright Skippy. I'll hold your hand here ("silver platter"). But first, help me help you.

    Wheel diameter...got it. 26"
What's the wheel offset or backspacing?
    What is the wheel width?
What size tire are you going to run?

Factory tires are about a 32" tire. Mathematically speaking you can have a whole 3" of tire sidewall and maintain an overall diameter that's exactly the same as factory! Now I can't tell you if they make a tire in that size or not...that's where you come in. Once again...what size tire are you going to run? And once you have that tire size, and even if it does happen to magically be the same diameter and width as factory...still doesn't mean it will fit without rubbing. Why you ask? Because you still haven't said what the wheel offset or backspacing is. Hell I could even go so far as to look at manufacture specs...but I have no idea what 26" wheel it is you want to run.

Now I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that you are going to want a larger tire diameter than factory. No big deal. Lots of us do that. But here is where tire size and wheel offset/backspacing is even more important! Depending how big of a tire, how wide the tire, and how little or how much backspacing the wheel has, you have the potential to rub the front plastics, the rear plastics, the cab mount, the sway bar, the frame, the fender aprons, and even the skid plate. So yes, the potential to have to hack away part of your skid, do a cab mount chop, get a big ass knife to cut plastics, or pull out your favorite big fucking hammer to beat some clearance out of the fender aprons. Then again...you may not have to do anything. Nobody can help you, not me, not the moderators, not Santa Clause, or even or the Smurfs. Why? Because nobody knows what size tire you want to run or the dimensions of the wheels (other than twenty-sixes yo!)

Ok, I would like to run atleast a 305/30/26, the wheels are 26x9 or 10. I am still Google searching trying to get a understanding of all the measurements and how they come into play. I admittedly don't know, so I ask.

Do you happen to have a Discount Tire store near you? They are pretty good about helping determine fitment. Problem is they may not have tire/wheel combo you want, although if they do not have what you want in the store, they can/will do special orders.

OK, based on that now that @jberry813 got this to where we can actually be more helpful.... yes that size *should* fit with the proper wheel backspace/offset. What that tire size translates to is a 33.2" tall by 12" wide, so about an inch taller than stock and 1.2" wider than stock. I think you should be fine to fit it so long as you maintain a moderately positive offset on your new wheels, so next find some wheels you like and let us know the spec on the wheels. In a 26x9 I think you'd want to be around a +25 to +35 offset if you can find it. To figure on a 10 I would need to do a little math to figure it out there. Another thought is that the 305 wide might not go onto a 9" wheel, might need 10 or wider since the tire is 12" wide and such a low profile.

A nearly exact comparison would be someone running 305/55/20's on a 20x9 wheel. Most guys on here would likely be able to picture/answer this rather than the much larger and less common wheel/tire size and tell you that it fits as well. In fact, you could look at guys running that size and see what it took them to fit it, and know very closely what it would take for your 305/30r26's.

I just went over on tire rack for the hell of it....
They offer a KMC wheel up to 24" there, 24x9.5 and recommend a 285/40/24 which leads me to believe you might want to look into a tire narrower than the 305 as well for a 26x9/10

    Now we're getting somewhere.
What wheels are you looking at? Gotta link? Need backspacing or wheel offset and width for final assessment.

Now here's a guy who's helpful and not a smartass. The full monte!

The good thing is you will figure this out. Plenty of folks are chiming in now. Once it's all said and done you will have to post pics of the new setup. Like @csuviper said, maybe it will bring more over to this forum. I'm kind of curious now to see how your Tundra turns out.

You would be alright with this setup... I'm about to leave work and actually pick up some 26's and tires that I found on craigslist for cheap. The tires that it's coming with are 305/35/26 and the guy said they only rubbed at full turn and only on the plastic. The safest bet would be to go with 295/30/26 and you wouldn't have any issues at all.

And don't worry about other's bashing you for what you like. Do what you want because it's your truck.

Because all 26" wheels have the exact same offset/backspacing?

And where's the bashing? Statements like "acquired taste" and "not my cup of tea" are hardly bashing.

My thought was that he already knew what the offset/backspacing was since most places you buy wheels from let you know which ones fit.

I guess "bashing" was a poor choice of wording... :(

The brand is BZO and the name of the wheel is Lucky 6. They guy I bought them from said he had them drilled to fit the 5x150 bolt pattern since they didn't make them.
