I've tried to use it and maybe I'm not searching the key words or phrases. Keeps drawing a blank on mine. Or maybe I'm just expecting the genie to come out of a bottle do all the work for me;) this would constitute laziness and generally a non-DIY'er I suppose. Don't tease me for it!! I'm just getting in to this game

    a 295 55 20 tire (8/10" taller and 8/10" wider than a 275 55 20) on a 20x9 +50mm offset wheel will fit:
    • on a 3rd gen with no lift (minor trimming, remove little front mud flaps)
    • on a 3rd gen with 1.57" lift (no trimming, remove little front mud flaps)

    Bone stock.
    I'll chime in.... :)

I'm a "stock" vehicle enthusiast (insert the boooos and hisses here) and I'm still trying to find and figure out what TRD wheel options are available for 3rd Gen Tundra, specific to me, the 2017 Tundra.

After looking at the millions of pics of aftermarket wheel and tire options, the stock wheels look too small, even on the TRD Pro. I think I'll have to get the 20" since that's the only other stock option.

So assuming for the 20" TRD wheels, what's the biggest "summer tire" size I can put on it.? Remember, I like stock so I'm not looking for the loudest mud terrain tires available. If racing tires were legal, I'd get those

Ok, maybe this answers my question above about stock tires on 3rd Gen?

In case it makes a difference, mine is 4x4 but not looking for mudders or similar, just summer or all season, if they're still called that. Maybe tires sizes don't matter if there are 4x4 or not, but I would have to think with all that extra grippy rubber v. a summer tire, there is a difference since mud or winter tires are bigger and could hit the wheel wells.
    Thanks.

Hey Brett, back when I posted that I had the 285/75-18's. Currently have 37's on same 2-1/4" lift. No CMC, but front bumper mods etc. Key is the OEM wheel offset that makes that large tire work on a small lift. Check my build thread in my signature below. Good luck with all.

Ok. Answer me this. I have an OME 3/1 I believe (dealer added) TRD 18" wheels. 35-12.50 BGG tires. I have no rubbing. I'll attach photos for someone to tell me if the front has been modified to accommodate these tires. IMG_2314.jpg IMG_2315.jpg IMG_2316.jpg

THIS IS WHAT we need, all of us new wanna-be modders. Oh, and pics for each!

So... maybe I'm missing it. Looking for a thread that has wheel/ tire combos actually installed, *without lifting or cutting*, with size info, and pics. I thought this thread was going to be that, but only a couple (good) examples so far. If there's another such thread, can someone direct me?

I have a 17 CM TRD OR with no lift. I was thinking 275/70r18 on my factory wheels, will that be a good combo and not have any rubbing? What about a 285/70r18? I'm guessing it will rub. I'd like to go as tall as I can but don't want to do any trimming. I may get a ~2" front lift down the road (5100 or 6112) and would like the tires to still look good once I do decide to level. Thanks. Oh and thinking Ridge Grapplers.

I have a 03 tundra with a 6 inch lift. I have it on 35x12.5 with 17 inch rims with 4 inch back spacing. I had to remove the front mud flaps and do a little bit of trimming on the front bumper but now they fit grate. No trimming necessary for the rear.

285/65R20 is close to a 35" tire. Tire calculator puts it at 34.6"x11.2". You're really fitting that stock?

This is a very helpful post and I hope I'm not speaking out of line here, but it would be helpful if the first post listed the factory rim diameters and especially the width and offset for each Generation and trim. It would also be helpful as a starting reference to list the factory tire specs. For instance the TRD Offroad factory 75/65 r18 is 32.1" tall 10.8" wide and has a 7" sidewall.

Excuse me but isn't that the purpose of a catch all thread? To have all the data in one place? Otherwise, threads like this are meaningless.

    Only 1 thing confuses me.

The second gen Tundra seem to have come (some editions) with 17" wheels but there is no mention of this here?

So...I want to put Toyo AT2's on my stock 20 Limited rims to replace the Dunlop OEM tires, 275/55/20 but I don't see where they make them in a "LT". Toyo has one on their website but has no LT or P rating for it. The Toyo shows 117 load rating and a "T" speed rating. Looking at the specks for my current tire on the Dunlop site the OEM tire has a load rating of 111, which they say is 2400 lbs, and a speed rating of "H" (130mph). Will these Toyo's work? Are they at least as stout as the OEM Dunlops?
Thanks and let me know if there is another tread I should post this on....or start a new one:hattip:
