Im looking for recommendations on an aftermarket wheel and tire setup for a 2016 toyota tundra sr5 4x4. Its stock height and will stay that way for another year or so. Im looking for a setup that will stay flush with the fenders (no flairs). I've read a few places that the offset im looking for is about +35 but i dont see a lot of options out there. I would like a black & machined finish or a grey/anthracite finish, but would consider straight black. I haven't decided between 18 or 20 inch wheels just yet, but do know that if I go 18 i would like to run a 275/70r18 tire. What options do y'all recommend? Whats out there? Thanks in advance

Here is a little info to chew on.

+35 to +20 offset is a difference of .59 inches. The tire you are suggesting is a little under 11 inches wide.

Assuming you have +60 offset on stock rims (tss models come with +50), if you went with a +20 rim, your total distance of the rim being pushed out towards the fender would be 1.57 inches.

Just from experience, when I bought a set of +20 offset wheels and had the 11.5 inch wide stock bfg ko's mounted to those wheels, it was exactly flush with the top of my fenders.

So here is my 2 cents. I'm pretty certain the way to go based on the info you gave would be buying a +20 offset. However... if you decide on a bigger/wider tire later, they will stick out and if you don't want mud or whatever slung up the side of your truck, you will have to buy fender flares. So if you went with a +35 if might give you a little breathing room on a bigger tire.

If the +20 gives you the better option on rim style, I say go with it. Your truck will look great.

I wish I had better pictures, but this first one is with the stock bfgs. My truck was stock height and the tire height was roughly 32.5 inches and like I said earlier about 11.5 inches wide.

I don't have a side shot, but this pic is after 3.25 inches of front lift and 1.5 in the rear. I put 35 inch tires on. They 12.5 inches wide.
All this to basically tell you, my tires stick out about an inch, maybe a hair more, now and I love the look. I do get mud and dirty water slung up the sides though, but not a big deal for me.

Probably way more info than you were asking for, but I had the time and felt like giving my opinion. Don't get too hung up on the offset number. You really can't go wrong with either. Just pick a style and see what the rim comes in and go from there. Post some pics when you get them mounted.

Welcome. Check the tire & wheel set up thread. I can't find it but @joonbug probably can.

I think even with 20 mm offset, your tires will stick out enough to need some fender flares. Here are a couple of pictures of stock tires (275/65/18) on 18 mm offset wheels. I have Bushwacker pocket style fender flares (I don't have too many pictures without fender flares).

I forgot to add that my wheels are 9 inches wide. If you get 8 inch wide wheels, then the tires will be tucked in roughly 1/2 inch more than mine. I say roughly because the effect of the width/height of the tire is a little more difficult to determine than the effect of the wheels.

I have been looking for +35 offset wheels for my Tundra and cannot find any that I like. I have 17" wheels at +25 but my knobs on the tire sides rub at certain positions. When the wheel drops in full droop, no problem in any angle turn but stuff it and I hear the click click click from the knobs on the tire side. Does not rub much but I do not like it rubbing the UCA at all

I think you wanna go the other direction. +35 will make the rubbing worse if it's rubbing on the inside. Maybe I'm reading this wrong, not sure what "tire side" is?

The inside of the tire is rubbing the UCA at different positions and I think you are correct. I looked at a few different pics and they are confusing the way some are drawn. I will be calling Method today after work
