So I have read this 6" Rough Country lift isn't recommended. No one specifies if its the spacer kit or with the front struts. Are they both equally as bad?

I am on the fence of the 7" BDS with fox shocks or the 6" rough country with front struts. Obviously the BDS wins blah blah blah but is the RC that bad if I decide to go RC over BDS.

honestly, if you were going to go either BDS/fox or RC, why is it such a hard decision? I'd go Fox shocks all the way!

I had RC spacers, and I hated the ride. you could feel every single bump and imperfection on the road. After upgrading to BOSS, I met this guy with the BDS/fox and was saying he absolutely loved the ride, quality, etc.

    Open and shut IMO.

Go with the 7 inch BDS with the fox coil overs that's what I ran on my truck.. when you spend that much for a vehicle you should buy quality parts..

Rough country is good but I don't think it is as great as the BDS ..

I have the TT Boss 3/1, if I were going to go higher, I would go BDS. I have never read anything negative about BDS. FWIW..

OK so I want honest feedback.... Is a 6 inch lift going to ruin my ride over time? Like put strain on parts and cause more money down the road?

Should I just install a full 3" suspension lift, not destroy my truck over time, and be happy.

I've read horror stories on 6 inch lifts. I really want a lifted truck but I don't want to destroy it you know

So long story short... I acted on impulse with my 3/1 spacer lift. IF I do another lift I want to make sure I do it right. I don't wheel my truck so it's going to be for aesthetics.

The 3" suspension lift is the best IMO. This will give you the best ride and hopefully less maintenance over time. I would choose the BDS over the RC if you go that route.

The general rule is the higher you go, the more money you'll have to put in it over time.
Anything beyond stock will put stress on the truck.

I haven't heard of any problems with the BDS 6" lift. If you're gonna go 6", that's the way to go. If you think you'll be happy with a 3", any shocks from Toytec to king will serve you well

Another aspect that is killing my mojo on this 7" BDS lift.... 3500 installed.... 2600 rims and tires.... grand total of 6100.... full 3 inch suspension with shackle and a stronger leaf pack (dakar with aal to get the full 3 with a lean) is like 3k installed with new tires and i keep my rims and upgrade the tires to muddies... I am VERY indecisive especially with my wife on board now.... shits crazy

    Personally, I think you'd be happy with a 3/1-2

You can have your wheels and tires (up to 35') and look badass while keeping costs (short term and long term) lower in comparison.

I love the 6' lift, don't get me wrong, but i'm more than happy with my choice. With the wife and I's plans to have a baby relatively soon, I wouldn't be looking forward to putting up the baby in his seat with a 6 incher LOL

I've heard of racks failing on stock too. Best bet to prevent that from happening is never lock out when turning.

Man, that's the best and worst thing about this forum! All deez ideas, all deez empty wallets and maxed out cards!

    I love this site...

but I utterly hate it too.... I've spent money I wouldn't think about spending if I wasn't influenced by these guys here with sick nasty trucks.

I'll probably get a full suspension 3" lift put on with new rubbers and move along without my 3/1 spacer lift (spacers would be fine since I don't wheel it)... I just wanted insight on 6 inch lifts and I appreciate the realistic responses. I was expecting people to respond stop being a bish and jack'er up.

nah, most guys on this site are adults (I use that term loosely......very loosely) and we want our trucks to last a while but look good doing it and cost less!! LOL

There are way too many options out there to endorse just one. Different setups work best for different situations and lifestyles. I wouldn't put a long travel on a tow rig!

Yep, this site is a love/hate relationship for the rest of us too! You aren't alone!:cheers::cheers::cheers:

and....."Stop being such a little bishhhhh and lift it!!" LOL

    Everything. Literally.
My buddy owns a shop that only does trucka/off road vehicles and he always tells me that anything over 4" will cause a large amount of wear and damage over time. I was going to go 6" but after seeing and hearing all the horror stories he deals with every day, I decided to go with a 4" on 35 12.5 20s.
    A lot less expensive, also.

You'd probably be looking at more like 3.5" with Dakars and an AAL, just going off they're advertised 2.5" lift on the Dakars. The shackle would then add around 3/4" if you go with the CB +1's or TC's.

Do the Zone 5 inch lift if you're between the BDS AND RC, Zone made by BDS ands it's around same price as RC Except it's a better lift kit

It's not a money or brand issue. I want to make sure I pick one that doesnt destroy my truck. Impossible yes I get that but picking one that people tell horror story's about isn't smart. That's why I want feedback

    This.

And spacers. Stay away from those too.

Long write up short, buy once, cry once. For the amount you'll spend on a full drop bracket lift, you could have a VERY nice set up with Kings or the Boss kit.

    That's just me though.

7 inch BDS LIFT, 22x10 RBP wheels 37 inch Atturo MT Tires, Flowmaster, Bullydog Tuner
Pro comp, BDS, Ready Lift are legit lift kits. If you want 6-7 inches of lift, do it.. many people have lifts that high and don't have issues.. if you yore going for a certain look, which I'm assuming you are by saying you want 6-7 inches then do it. 6-8 inches of lift looks like a lifted truck, 3 inc Lift doesn't give you that same look you're going for..
