Hey guys, driving off the beach last night and some warnings came up all at once. I was in 4H and I guess taking a turn in the sand but not very tight at all, rather wide I'd say, in order to approach a crossover, from the beach over the dunes to the service road... First lights where basically saying the collision system was malfunctioning and I think something about towing a trailer or something, and telling me to see a dealer... And the slip indicator light. After getting over the dune I stopped, took it out of 4H and drove a bit and shut off the truck. Turned it back on and everything "went away" but the slip indictor light, which has stayed on. Truck drives fine.

    Any ideas?

Which light are you referring to? Just so we can all be on the same page, and it helps us to narrow down what system/components you are dealing with (just snap a pic of the dash light is easiest). Also, since you are in a 'Pro' thread, I'd assume your truck is a Pro, but what year is it???

First step: Can you put an OBD scan tool on it and check for 'all system functions' or 'all dash/warning lights' depending on the reader. If it throws up a code, make a note of that code and start researching what it pertains to; and feel free to post that/those codes back here so we have more info.

Next thing I'd do is disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes, which allows everything to kind of reset. Reconnect the terminal, drive it around and see if it's resolved.

From there, codes and more specificity would be helpful... but I'd also check all your speed and abs sensors for sand/damage as these components are likely triggers. The sit in a position that is susceptible to intrusions/damage in harsh environments (freakin' electronics :frusty: )

The video below is of a corolla, but it will give you an idea of what the connections look like and an idea on where to look for them; plus from there just search around and you'll find other videos specifically addressing Tundras.

Hi there! Thanks for thorough response! It is the second icon there with the shaded background and no text. Will try those steps! Oh and it's a 2021 Pro... Thanks again.

    Copy that; my pleasure!!!

Keep us updated on your progress w/the process.

Also, if we hit a sticking point, I'm going to suggest we move this to the general 2.5 thread where you'll get more exposure and feedback. Those systems are not exclusive to the Pro, so you'll have more eyes looking at your post in a non-pro thread.

Soooo fired her up this morning and while the light came on again, after pulling out of the driveway and getting to the end of the street, it shut off by itself. Hasn't come back on. Guess just a weird sensor issue or something? Will mention it to the dealer next time I'm in for my regular service... Thanks @tripleconpanna!

Yeah... sand has a way of getting into some strange places :eek2:

Hopefully, no more issues as it's always nice when we don't have warning lights popping up on us; too many of them in these rigs these days!!!

I've had that happen with mine, and it eventually went out too. When it did go out, everything worked properly again. I believe the cause may have been the 1kw inverter, which is still disconnected.
And, after a very low battery condition again (obviously, something else is still draining it when not running), it is back on. If truck is not running, we have no cab lights, no head unit power (truck running or not), and even remote door locks cease to work. Again, this is all when key is off. Pain in the keister. I reset mine (disconnected negative terminal on battery for 10-15 minutes), and stupid light still on. It also disconnects ability to use cruise control. Alternator is strong and puts out a good 14+ volts, so at least I don't sweat charging. No trouble codes found either.

A week after installing a rear sway bar (huge improvement in cornering), my slip indicator came back on, and has stayed on. Along with the same (ignition off) no cab lights, remote door locks. And with ignition on (or running): no head unit power, no cruise control, no automatic headlights. Battery good and strong. Attempted full reset twice. Around 300-500 miles and light still on. Fuzes good. No OBDC errors. Accessory connections isolated, and still no workie. I'm stumped. Thoughts?

I figured it out, and resolved it. Would you believe I had some fuzes under the hood, not fully seated, and a few facing the wrong direction (yes, they can easily be put in backward, and it does matter). Reseated them, and made sure they are now ALL readable from engine side. Now everything works perfectly, and not slip indicator lights on anymore.

Glad you got it sorted but..... I have to tell you that the only thing a normal spade fuse will do if mounted 'backwards' is make you read upside down and backwards......... ;-)

I have the same problems you have too.
The first time, Toyota replace the Yaw sensor under warranty.
The second time was a couple of months ago when I went to NJ Island State Park to drive on and fish from.
But Toyota would fix the faults during one of their many recalls claiming I had an aftermarket device (Fortin remote starter with OEM security interface) after my warranty expired.

Both times, the truck was in 4 low-wheel drive and the tires were shimming hence I think the Yaw sensor is upset again.

I have a headlamp alignment fault. A towing fault. A lane departure fault (radar).
I might not be describing the above faults exactly as I haven't driven the truck for a while now.

I am going to download a version of Toyota TechStream to try to reset these faults.
And purchased an ODBI laptop dongle for use.

More to come as I try to fix it software-wise and not hardware-wise
