I have 2017 DC and the same thing going on right now. Thought it might be wheel bearings but no play of noise at all.
I'm also running Power Stop brakes, rotors were slightly warp and had them turned. Pulsing when braking went away but steering wheel shake comes and goes.
Had Les Schwab double check my diagnoses, UBJ, LBJ, UCA & LCA Bushings etc...
They told me my shock were dead as my tires had some cupping. They replaced them under warranty as this is now my 4th pair of shocks for this truck.
They re-aligned and it was good for a little and now the shake is back. Hence I just had this work done this past Saturday.
I'm about to go back to OEM Brakes and see if this helps but man its some $$$ as I had installed Power Stops not that long ago.
I'm at almost 160K on my truck.

Going thru the same issues. Slight vibration on steering wheel, front tires cupping, outside edge wear. These tundras just all seem to have this issue. I’m getting another alignment today. I replaced the front struts with 6112 lowest setting bilsteins. Tires are new, all balanced/rotated. It’s annoying. New Toyota rotors and pads.

Yea I’ve heard our trucks are susceptible to vibrations which I still feel like it shouldn’t happen but it does. Still wondering what to try next since my tires are brand new and so are my brakes. Almost 39k miles on my truck and it’s paid off but having this issue is really starting to irritate me to the point of getting rid of the truck.

I think much of the problem is that the lower A-arm bolts/cam eccentrics are not holding the alignment and are causing premature and uneven tire wear.
I experienced this firsthand. Had new 35" Nitto tires mounted/balanced and aligned when my truck was new. Two years later my RF tire was visibly cambered out and the tire worn bad on the outside half of the tread. It shook and wobbled like an old horse cart.
I've since replaced those tires with 37" BFG's and had it aligned again @ zero camber. They balanced out perfectly and ride smooth as butter at any speed.
Went straight home and tack-welded all the cam eccentrics on the lower A-arms so the alignment doesn't move again.

These tires are too dang expensive to be scrubbing tread off while driving around with the front end out of alignment.

I have this issue on my 2019 crewmax 4X4 with a 4" Pro Comp lift. I bought the truck used and the shake was not present when I bought it but has appeared slowly over time and is getting worse. I'm putting new tires on the truck tomorrow hopefully. I will also be getting an alignment at the same time as there is a slight pull to the right and the right front tire has some feathering to the inside tread of the tire that isn't present on the other tires. When the tires come off I will also be checking the front right strut and making sure that it is operating properly as well. I don't think there is any problem with it but I'll check anyways.

I will also be doing a full brake job on the truck likely this week end. New pads and maybe rotors as well. I'm debating if I should spend the extra money and go with performance brakes. Pads/rotors or pads/rotors/calipers. The stock breaks haven't given me any problems but I did notice the other day when I was towing a mini-X on a 16' tandem axial tilt trailer that it definitely took farther to stop and thought the truck could benefit with more stopping power but still the stock brakes worked good enough. I just don't know if I want to spend the extra money here or some where else. It's not like the breaks don't work. I guess I will decide that after I pull the rotors and check for run out. I mean if the rotors are warped and need replacing anyways maybe it makes more sense to upgrade to a set of performance pads and rotors. Anyone here have upgraded brakes?

I have power stop Z36 brakes and wonder if I shouldn’t have gone a different route with mine. Keep us updated if your vibration goes away, gets worse or no change. Someone has to figure this out eventually lol.

Not sure if this would help, But wheel bearings are all good?

So the ECSG bushing didn't help? I have a slight vibration in the steering wheel at highway speed and thought maybe I should so thr ECSG but now reconsidering.

I had the bushing installed to avoid the needle bearing from failing and destrying my front diff in the future but no difference in vibration before or after install so makes me wonder what else it is or if i possibly have a bent wheel possibly. Still have a few things to try out just need to get to them when i have time.

I thought if the needle bearing goes you just replace it with the ECSG, didn't know it could do any damage

@SoTexTundra those Michelin Defenders are some of the best LT tires you can buy...but tires can be bad even when new. I bought brand new Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs from Discount and went back 3 times until they finally put a guy on the balance machine who knew a thing or two and declared that one of the tires was trash so they gave me a new one and it balanced out on the first try. No issues after that.

I was reading a thread before i had the bushing installed and that was one of the concerns was if and when it did fail that the needle bearing pieces could damage the front diff if not caught in time. Plus i started to have some slight movement in my cv axle and just wanted to get that fixed for preventative maintenance.

So far i like them but yea i understand it could be a bad tire i just need to get back to discount and have them check the balancing again and rotate to see if the vibration gets worse or goes away.

I just pulled the trigger on a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's. I should have them by the 31'st. Man tires have gotten expensive. Prices have gone up by $50.00 in just the past 2 months when I started looking for tires. What gives? From everything I have been reading the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W are top tier tires. Has anybody had any problems using these tires? I have the NITO Trail Grappler M/T's on there now. I choose an A/T over a M/T because they make more sense for me. I spend way more time driving on pavement then I do in the mud. We will see how it goes once I get them.

I hope so. I've been doing a lot of research over the past couple months and this is where I landed. I wanted to get new tires put on the truck yesterday but nobody local carries these tires so they would have to ordered so I decided to buy them on line instead. These tires are some of the best rated and highest ranked in the A/T market and was surprised that they where several hundred dollars less then equivalent name brands I was looking at. I payed $1,585.00 before tax for all four where the other tires started at $1,800.00 and quickly climbed over $2,000.00.

So has the vibration issue been pinpointed? What was the required fix?

I have yet to fix or pinpoint the vibration, i havent really noticed it in the past few days but i do plan on taking it to disocunt again to re-balance and rotate when it comes back.

Machine showing green doesn't mean it's a "good" balance. More like good enough most of the time. Took 5 attempts total between 2 tire shops to get a set of tires balanced correctly on my other vehicle to get the shake out of front end. Every time they said it was good but obviously not since there was shaking. In the end, it was an old guy on a normal balance, not roadforce, that got it driving smooth.

My new tires arrive today. I will be making an appointment with my local shop to mount & balance the tires and then the alignment. Hopefully they don't get offended that I bought the tires somewhere else.

Keep them honest and don’t give in too improper tire balancing. Authorized tire companies take advantage of non detailed individuals that settle or that don’t know any better. I wouldn’t settle with these new tire prices! Keep us posted and good luck .

Relative to the market I got a pretty good price but that doesn't change the fact that they are still way expensive. Something I just found out after I noticed that prices had jumped up about $50.00 across the board in the last couple of months and that is there is a tire season. Yea, every year in spring and into the first part of summer is tire season and they all raise their prices during this time. I guess this is when most people buy new tires. Go figure.

That doesn’t sound like the needle bearing to me. Sounds more like a tire balancing issue, which these trucks are very sensitive to.

The needle bearing isn’t a shake or a vibration as much as a humming noise coming from the front diff that oscillates. At least it doesn’t start out that way. Maybe it gets worse and starts shaking. My truck has it, and it is only audible (no shake) at this point. I’ve done a bunch of testing. For me, it happens around 30-50mph, and it always goes away the second I enter 4Hi.

I got my new tires mounted up and I will say there is quite a difference in ride quality for sure. So far the shake is gone and the ride is much smoother and road noise is cut in half. I think going from M/T's to A/T's was the right thing for me. It cost me $190.00 to get them mounted and balanced which I thought was pretty high but I figure it is because I didn't buy the tires through them. But looking at the bill I see they charged me extra for nitrogen which I didn't want and I'm getting charged for a tire recycling fee that I was also charged by the store I bought the tires from and of course California just wouldn't be happy without charging me a CA tire fee of $7.00. Oh well the tires are on the truck and so far I am happy with them and the shake is gone. So all is good in that department, but.....

I was going to get an alignment but they said they didn't do it because both my front struts are leaking. So that sucks. I wasn't planning on having to buy new struts right now. There is only 40,000 miles on the truck but there is a 4" pro comp lift on it so I doubt there would be any kind of warrantee on it at this point. So I guess I get to start looking into struts now. I have no idea which way I want to go yet. I will have to do some research into my options. Considering there is already a 4" lift on it I'm not sure if that changes anything.
