I went thru a carwash and my solid as a rock 2017 tundra decided to shed some parts... Roof trim, antenna, and passenger side mirror.

Does anyone have experience reattaching the mirror? The glass came out and was hanging by it's wires and I can't seem to "snap it back on" is there a trick to it?

No need. Only the first time. Do it more times and you won't get dessert after dinner.

Not that I know of on the antenna, and folding in the mirrors doesn't do anything since the wash pops them back and forth a couple times when running thru( they don't hold in the folded in position with any strength). Not sure what I could have done about the roof trim.

If memory serves (famous last words...) the mirror glass should have L-shaped tabs that face downward and then it should sort of fit straight in then snap downward. My original mirrors are in storage so I can't check them directly.

Here's the back of the mirror and inside the housing. I can see inside the housing the adjusters have hooks, I can see where they clip to the mirror, but I can't figure out how to snap them together. No matter how I set the mirror in and push there's no clicking. Couple that with the outer housing hiding everything as I put the mirror on so I can't see anything once it's up there. Doesn't look like the housing comes apart to work it from behind the mirror ....

Your missing the metal spring clips. Just disconnect it and order the parts, on install, tilt the mirror all the way down from inside the cab. Jump out and slide the mirror frame in the slots, and use a plastic mounding removing tool to pry down on it until it pops into place. It is easy.

The anntenna your screwed. Order a new one. Not the complete assembly, just the screw on part.

My roof trip was blown out in one of these car washes as well. Crap design.

According to these, you set the glass in there just like you probably have been. Then the glass needs to be "slid" down on the vertical plane till it "snaps/clicks" to it's locked position. After reviewing this, it's familiar but I was doing it with mine off the truck on the carpet and also using my bare feet to hold everything. Probably not feasible while on the truck. If you can pop into a dealer and have them do it, try that I suppose. I also remember expecting to something crack and the swearing to begin....

The second link provided what I needed. The circle behind the mirror pops off and was easy to mount back on, then the mirror just snapped onto that. Didn't see anywhere that needed metal clips, it all seemed to come together fine after realizing that circle piece comes off.

Thanks much for all the help... Still gotta go back to Toyota for the trim and should probably use this time to get a nice stubby antenna, but I feel much better having my mirror back!
