Carfax title

What would make a dealership be labeled as a “personal” owner on carfax. I was looking at a truck that was leased for a little while, then was at another dealership who was under the same owner (for some reason) then the next owner was the dealership I went to( the personal vehicle)

 

Depends on the laws for the state of registration, but some examples would be a lease (however, that is usually the mfr or finance company); it could be a demo that was used by the dealer for test drives, courtesy cars, etc... and finally after this last debacle i've heard that some dealers were buying the new cars, registering them for whatever the requirement in their particular state would be to qualify for used status, then selling them as used vehicles w/almost no limitations....

 

Would this make you avoid buying this truck?

 

If there are no accidents reported and not salvage title. I would still consider it.
