Searched the forum but was not able to find an answer. I just received my 6112's and 5100's for the rear. Hoping to install myself but need to make sure I have all the parts needed to complete. In addition to the front and rear shocks, do I need anything else? I plan on doing 1.9" in the front and just mounting the 5100's without shackles for now. Still trying to figure out a spacer for the lean, was thinkin just one .5" spacer on the drivers side. Im not doing UCA's or a diff drop. Not sure about the carrier bearing or bump stops. I keep thinkinh Im missing something. Rea Brake line relocation bracket? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I had my 6112s set at 1.9" and went with 1/2" spacer on the left and 1/4" spacer on the right. After all settled, I think it netted me about 2.5" average lift. Keep in mind due to location, a 1/4" spacer yields about 1/2" lift.

    You'll want bump stop extensions.

If you are not lifting the rear, you will not need a carrier bearing drop. To lift the rear, you'll need lift shackle, a new leaf spring pack, an add-a-leaf or blocks. If you lift then front more than 2", you'll be higher in the front than the rear.

Are you planning on reusing your factory top hats for for the 6112’s? Or did you buy new ones or have them preassembled? Else, a spring compressor if you are assembling them yourself and you are pretty much ready to go.

If you aren’t doing any sort of lift on the rear, you don’t need brake line relocation brackets; the fronts won’t need them. I believe the 5100’s reuse the factory bushings in the rear. Just do one side at time and pay attention to the way the bushings and washers stack.

Swapping everything is pretty straightforward. The rears are easy peasy - you just have to compress the shock to install so either install the bottom bolt and push the top down with the bottom bushing installed to slip it in to the top mount, or install the top mount and lift or Jack the bottom eyelet up to the bottom mount.

Fronts are a little more work.

Appreciate the help and quick replys, ill be using a spring compressor and reusing my top hats. To address the lean, can I just put a spacer on the one side that is leaning(think its the drivers side if I remember correctly) rather than both sides? Im hoping to keep the lift around the 1.9" and the same on both sides, thats why im asking about a spacer on just the one side. Im not sure how much the lean will be so Im not sure which spacer or spacers to get. I was also on toytecs sight and it states "**Not recommended for use with adjustable coilovers or damage can occur." NOt sure which way to go with the spacer
Thank you again for the help.

That looks like the type commonly used. I think toytec is referring to coilovers which are adjustable without removing from the vehicle, using a spanner wrench to spin a threaded collar. Not sure why the spacer would cause damage, but it would be unnecessary since you could simply adjust the preload as necessary. This would not apply to the 6112. Yes, you could put one 1/4" spacer above the top hat on the driver's side. What are your hub-to-fender measurements now?

The front spacer will not correct lean in the rear suspension.

Not saying you're wrong here but are you 100% positive on this? I know they're apples to oranges but a single space does wonders in a Tacoma.

There is a 1/4" inch difference between the two sides. Is it even worth messing with the spacers for such a small amount?

I love this website, everyones always willing to help.

I’m running 6112s at 1.9” (kyb top hats as well) with a 1/4” coachbuilder spacer on the drivers side with coachbuilder +2 rear shackles and carrier bearing drop, I’d have to take some measurements one day when I’m home again to check for any differences from drivers side to passengers side. It looks pretty good to my untrained eye however.
And a somewhat shiny truck just for fun.

No, not 100%. It did not seem to make a measurable difference in my truck before and after the front suspension install or the rear suspension install that came a few weeks later.

That's tough. I suppose despite all of our trucks being similar they definitely don't all share the same geometry across the board so its possible you may just require a second plate to get it sorted.
