The current price point reflects a product line that is 99% manufactured in the United States. The price point is a hurdle that is currently an active priority of engineering and operations. While most companies' products will need additional busbars and switch banks to be more user-friendly, this actually voids the warranty straight out of the box and brings up the cost to get these units installed. sPOD utilizes a solid-state circuit board that cuts all the guesswork and additional cost out of the window. Each of our units whether it be the 6 of 8 circuits are rated at 30amps and the total unit can run 100amps. The unit features input switches that help automate each switch.
    Best,
    Brandon

LOL, I know. it wasn't that bad to change out the fuse, 5 mins job. Cause when I upgrade my battery to the AGM, I had to swap out the old fuse to the GM Diode fuse.

I have the Auxbeam, nothing but a pain in the arse. 1st channel could not be used as the screws were so tight I cant get them out to make a connection, so used the next channel which worked fine for my radio for a couple months, and now it doesnt deliver power so I need to move it. The 3rd channel I used has worked for for my air bag compressor. Good thing there are 6 channels because I am effectively down to 4.

I have had auxbeam 6 channels, and now just added another 8 channels from auxbeam again, it's budget friendly and have never failed me for the last 3 years of using it.

Hey @seahaul, Have you considered 4x4 sPOD as a replacement for this unit? They have the industry-leading 5-year warranty so if issues like this come up with their unit you can get it fixed on them. They also have a stable 30 amp inlet for all ports on both the SourceLT and BantamX units.

I’ve installed 3 Switch-Pros (one in my truck) and absolutely love the features and quality. A friend of mine bought the Aux and it serves him well. I prefer the Switch-Pros.

I certainly pray their electrical engineering, manufacturing and support are a lot better than their spelling and marketing skills…

“ROGK” and “GARGO” shocked to not “GUBES” instead of “CUBES”

Hey partner. What problems did your pop’s sPOD have? I’ve been running mine for a bit over a year now and not a single hiccup. That said, I rarely use the phone app to control it. That’s a little gimmicky, IMHO, and takes too long to connect. I’ve demonstrated the enhanced features that can only be controlled via the app, but I really
Just want to turn things on and off. The switches work perfectly for that.

Just curious what the issues were since a few of us down here have had good luck!

Not working at all randomly when in use or just completely dead units. This has happened on across multiple units in different vehicles. And terrible customer support assistance.

I recently installed the Switch Pros 9100 with the SDHQ mounts. For me, it was a "buy once cry once" scenario when comparing to Auxbeam. I love how I was able to get rid of multiple relays, wiring, individual fuses, and a master fuse. I enjoy doing electrical work, so I just have the basic Switch Pros set-up; I did not include aftermarket circuit breakers, distribution blocks, etc., like others have mounted on top of their fuse boxes for ease of changing around the switches. I don't see me needing to wire anything else until I get e-lockers; I left two buttons blank for that. Since I didn't buy the extra aftermarket components others have, my fuse box is easily accessible with nothing on top now, as opposed to my previous set-up.

For those wondering about functionality, here are some vids. The switch video shows how I can designate one a "master", so that it will turn on 4 LED bars as once. I also included vids of the strobe function, which I enabled on my front LED bars and my chase LED bar. Didn't use strobe on my engine compartment LED bar.

Interesting, and frustrating! I'd find something else also if I'd had an experience(s) like that.

Was it the older style with relays or the newer MOSFET type that was going tits up?

Hopefully the customer service is better with the new ownership, as I've had great luck with Baja Designs every time I've needed something. The only time I reached out to sPOD was when I wanted to order mine. Website said blue lighting was out of stock, so I called to see if they had an ETA. Website hadn't been updated, blue was in stock. She made sure I received blue... No other dealings.

Both versions had issues. Exactly I forsee much better service now that the takeover has occurred. Brandon actually reached out directly already.

That’s a pretty sweet unit there. Nice to see a wireless version that offers dimming and flashing, trigger wires, and all the other creature comforts. Couldn’t tell from the page whether you can dim directly from the switch or if you need to go into setting every time to adjust dimming. Definitely a good option for sure at
    $400

edit: just saw in the manual and it has these “routines” you can program. So say your vehicle hits over 60mph, you can program the garmin to turn on your racer lights or something that throws light further. I’d say that’s a first for the market. Not something I’d use but maybe for those speedfreaks like @reywcms or @BiggHertz

Eh…that feature seems gimmicky to me. Sort of like what rigid did with their adapt series of lights…for me that is a no go even with some “buffering”, things kicking on and off while driving at speed would be a massive distraction and f’s with your vision.

Form factor is sort of strange for me as well, having to use an app or other Garmin display to control it.

Contrary to popular belief…I am a K.I.S.S. individual when it comes to operating things, but I certainly over engineer the implementation…

hey Brandon, thanks for the recommendation. I'm going to try the Garmin route. I like the trigger options and programming, also the simplicity and daisy chaining. We'll see........
