Horn relay

    Good morning,
    I have read most of the posts regarding the horn not working. I have followed all of the suggestions. The most confusing thing for me is that my tundra does NOT have a horn relay in the fuse box under the hood! If it is not there, where would it be located?

    All of the controls in the steering wheel work except the horn.

    Thanks for responding George. It’s not the fuse. I’ve already checked that. I haven’t found a relay location for it. I’m thinking it’s the clock spring but it’s only the horn that’s not working. Cruise control works perfectly fine. I’ll hold off on testing the airbags until I need them (LOL). I’ve run out of ideas outside of replacing the clock spring and hope that’s it. I’d love to hear any ideas, especially ones that are easier than pulling the steering wheel off. :)

    So what did you figure out?
    My horn quit too, but the panic button activates the relay and horn just fine. Pulled the airbag with the horn switch and it shows continuity and break when pushing the brackets. It's got to be the clock spring/spiral cable right?

    I fixed mine by changing the clockspring/spiral cable behind the steering wheel. First confirm that your horn and relay are actually working by activating the panic button to make the horn blow. If that's working, it eliminates the horn, relay and fuse.

    I ordered my clockspring from Rock Auto part number 525405 for $47.79 and got a wheel puller from Harbor Freight number 62620 for $17.99 to remove the steering wheel.

    The video shows just about everything to do. However, the two T-25 torx and the 19MM steering wheel nut were real tight and I had to hit them with an impact driver. Also, behind the clockspring is a STEERING SENSOR that must be removed and put on the new closkspring assembly prior to install. Don't rotate the old clockspring too much when you remove it to keep that sensor in line and transfer it to the new part. It just clips to the back.

    Otherwise a very easy changeout. Good luck.
