Well, I chickened out and stuck with 35’s..

    Toyo OC AT3 35x12.5r17 on method 703’s 35mm offset.

nah, you didn’t chicken out, you made a decision that works best for you, no justification necessary.

    Looks killer, enjoy them!

    Lookin’ sharp. Questions:

The stupid easy question: Do you have any rub?

    More appropriate questions:
How close are you to contacting, and where? Our front suspensions are identical, so you’re a good comparison.

Do you know what your caster angle is? I am set at 5° in hope that I won’t need to do a BMC.

My new wheels are only +25mm, but my new tires are an inch narrower. My wheels are also likely a bit wider, at 9”. IIRC, it’s really common for the 17s to be 8.5” wide…

    Just curious!

I do have a little rub on my skid plate at full lock. Need to trim that a bit. I’m still running the plain Jane non-Trd skid.

I’ve got plenty of clearance elsewhere as far as I can tell. I don’t anticipate issues. Ram trails yesterday and romped on it pretty hard and didn’t have any rubbing besides the skid.

There’s like an inch between spindles and tires. I think you’ll be good with that setup you’re going for.

Perfect. Thank you. I’ve got lots of skid clearance with the RCI. Just pull yours off and fold the wings with a pair of channellocks…. Easier and safer than trimming. No sharp edges…

Yes. You do want 37s. I mean just look at the beefiness of the spare:

No thanks, never in 60 years have I ever been that bad at trying to wheel offroad. I thought the show and go days of 6 tires was gone in the AZ area? Have seen all those racks up for sale for a long time. One spare and tire patches was all that was ever needed. Understood there are times where things go south quick but if I have never been there then at this point I feel safe

Round town I carry no spares, just a patch and OBA 24/7

    but off-road…

2 is 1 and 1 is none…especially if you’re the only one of your trail mates with 37s.

with 2 spares on board and you blow 1, the journey continues.

With 1 spare on board and you blow 1, the spare gets you home.

Everyone in our group carries 2 spares now. And we’re all on 37’s with 0 offset. When I only carried 1 spare and got a flat, I kept going. But it was pretty stressful. Not only on dirt, but the 5-8 hour drive on the road back home too. It especially sucks when you get your first flat in the first 30 mins of a 4 day trip. @831Tun :D

or during air-down, you have a faulty ARB ez-deflator that scores the TPMS valve stem, and when you go to unthread it...valve stem comes out with the deflator and the core shoots across the dirt lot...Ironically this happened the day before my 6th wheel/tire showed up. The journey continued because @TundraPHX had been carrying around tron's 37s as ballast in his bed.

I thought I had the wife talked into SC's for both the Tundra and her 4Runner then she started her shit and said "How are we going to pay for this?" All went downhill from there ;)

You might already know about these having had that experience, but just in case and for others know about the trail repair for this type of issue:

I’m running 37s. Started as a pro comp 4” lift, just recently swapped to Bilstien 5100s and added 1” blocks in the back. Then body mount cut/pin but I don’t rub even when wheel locked on terrain.
    4WP did all the work.

I found it best to keep my tundra talk to myself and car buddies… a wise man one said “don’t cast pearls to swine”.

Few months go buy and I pulled/patched a handful of screws from my girls tire… she got fed up and told me to find her some beefy off-road tires…. My response.. “say no more!” They all will eventually come around!

just tell her you found a hell of a deal on facebook marketplace, someone wanted to trade for your stocks…. Lol
