I pulled the trigger and got the Baxter Performance cartridge to remote oil filter adapter and the inverted remote oil filter mount. Very high quality parts from Baxter Performance. Also bought 10' of -10AN hose and fittings from Amazon. Expensive mod for oil changes, but I'm glad I did it.

So you have to pull the grill to change the oil filter? I'd rather deal with the cartridge filters (which done correctly really aren't that bad anyway).

No. The grill is attached to the hood on 2nd gens. Pop the hood and everything is easily accessible.

Gotcha. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention. (In my defense I'm in the hospital and have been very drowsy all day. You never get much sleep in here.)

That was confusing, coming from a tundra owner. Never poped a hood before?:boink:
    Speedy recovery to you, gang!

That's quite interesting. Wondering of the potential long term issues from higher resistance.

Ps- I read in a other thread cartridges provide better filtration because bigger surface area. I'll take that.

I'm using 5W30 vice 0W20 and a WIX 51516 (recommended by Baxter Performance) and it measures 3.12 x 3.12 x 5.06". The OEM cartridge filter measures 3.2 x 3.2 x 6.3". So, there is a difference in LxWxH. However, the WIX filter has 60 pleats while the OEM (Toyota brand) has 42. So, the WIX is superior in actual filter surface area despite being 1.24" shorter in height. The oil has to travel approx an additional 10' round trip. I've had no adverse effects, cautions, or warning lights. Engine still purrs like a kitten. Long term? Who knows, but I doubt it'll be anything due to negligible differences from OEM to modification.

Well, those 10 feet do add up over time and it's not just distance. Any bend in the pipe will create additional strain for the pump other than having those extra miles traveling through a tube, creating a resistance on its own.

Maybe it'll be fine, or not. You probably won't know tomorrow or next week.

I just put a “Baracade bull bar” on my 23 Tundra and it looks as tho it has some sort of automatic air dam under the bumper, is this bar going to get in the way of that air damn?image.jpg

I routed the hoses with very slight curves. No drastic bends. I did my homework regarding Baxter Performance before I purchased. I have yet to find ONE negative review or anyone's engine, for any make/ model vehicle, that has had adverse effects on the internet using BP's products (which is quite surprising). Customers and performance TV shows all have good things to say and those reviews go back at least 5 to 6 years. Just my 2 cents.

Pooped a hood? No, can't say I have. But I think it's safe to say that if I had I would definitely be spending some time in the hospital.

Seriously, though, my only Tundra has been a gen 2.5 - the grill does not lift with the hood.

I'm sorry gang, perhaps it is me who needs to go to hospital. Buttery fingers hitting wrong touching.

Im surprised yours doesn't lift with the hood. Is 2.5gen really different? Perhaps yours is modified?

Nope, my hood and grill aren't modified.

I didn't realize that the gen2 grill lifts with the hood. My bad.
