I recently traded my 14 DC for a 15 CM. The CM came with a 3 inch spacer lift in the front and I belive a 1 inch shackle in the rear. The ride quality is honestly pretty smooth. But it currently has factory UCA's and hit the spring at full droop. My main concern is alignment and premature wear on the brand brand new terra grapplers that are on there. For the value I am wanting to go with the Zone off road UCA's. But I really want to get away from the spacer lift and do it right.

My main goals are alignment and smooth ride quality but be well off road capable.

    I'm looking at :

Fox 2.5 with remote res without DSC
    Kings 2.5 remote res
    Bilstein 6112 / 5160

Will the Bilstein provide a more comfortable ride than my current oem ?
Or do I spend the extra money for the Fox 2.5 or Kings. If so which one and why?
    Any info is much appreciated!!

Are you going to be unladen, or do you plan on doing bumpers, racks, anything like that?

ALL of the selections that you picked out will absolutely be an upgrade over an OEM setup with a spacer on top, and you can also get away from impacting the coil with your UCA. The Fox and King setups will be awesome and take a beating if you like to go fast. The 6112s will be a great upgrade as well, and will last you a long time as they don't require a rebuild.

We can help you with getting all of your parts too over here at Hotshot Offroad. Give me a call anytime at 406-936-0206 and I can help you with picking out and getting parts, and you can hit me with the 20Q. We'll get you some answers much more quickly than me popping into the forum a few times a day!

I went with Kings and JBA uppers on my tundra and I couldn’t be happier. I was skeptical on the adjusters, but so glad I got them. They definitely change the ride with every click. I run them wide open daily and haven’t gone over the 9 click mark.

Any of those will be a great choice. I had 6112 on my Tacoma and they were great as well.

Im really tight on budget but don't want to be disappointed and regret not spending the extra money on some Fox. I'm looking into getting the Zone off road UCAs or the BDS.

Really my main problem is I'm getting premature wear and it's driving me crazy not doing something about it.

Can't make up my mind if I want to throw some UCAs on to fix my problem and get an alignment. Then replace the coil overs down the road and do another alignment. But apart of me just wants to do it all at once and be done with it.

I've had small issues with the truck since I've got it and hate sinking all this money into it to just have another issue pop up that has to be fixed.

If budget is a real issue, then I would say Fox and King are out of the equation. However, if you really want the best ride and are ok with investing in something you plan to keep for a long time, good quality/tuned shocks would be a great option. Upgrading shocks on a daily driver truck can really transform it into something you enjoy driving more often.

    Zone & BDS = Fox

Is there a HUGE ride comfort difference on pavement between let’s say Eibach/6112 vs Kings/Fox? To justify the price is more than 2x.

Prices reflect quality and performance. IMO, Eibach/Bilstein 6112 are in their own category compared to Fox/King. You simply cannot get the ride quality and performance out of the cheaper shocks, thats not what they are intended for. However, at the end of the day, ride quality is subjective. What may be horrible to me, may be a huge improvement to what you have. For me, stock vs Fox on my 19 F150 was a massive improvement. Extremely rare for someone to regret buying tuned shocks from us, however we do get a lot of people coming to us regretting going cheap. This falls into the ol' "buy once, cry once" category.

Sorry for my ignorance, what do you mean by adjusters? this is the set up I’m thinking of getting, (I have the JBA uppers) just about to pull the trigger on the Kings but am not convinced they will provide a better ride quality on the road then my oem bilsteins with 3in spacer on top.

how do king 2.5’s come tuned from the factory? I’m wanting to improve pavement ride quality, is there a “small bump” or “large bump” tune?
Currently have stock bilsteins with 3in spacer which I am looking to replace

    Too many mods to come
@AccuTune Offroad can dial in the valving for your specific rig. And yes it will feel better than Bilsteins and a spacer. But again your budget plays a factor.

Factory valving is ok, we believe we can make it much better and will tailor it to your needs. Often times we will swap pistons in the shocks to get even better results. Its something we offer for free when you purchase through us, so if you are in the market, its a no brainer to go through us.

As for adjusters on the shocks, they basically limit oil flow into the remote reservoir. Shocks are all about oil flow, so adjusting this can firm up or soften the ride. This is a nice feature for someone that tows, or loads up with a lot of gear for camping trips and want the ability to make adjustments.

We've got both options available if its something you're interested in, shoot over a message if you have any questions.

So with the adjuster wide open they would result in a “smoother” ride?
