Good morning..... I am on a trip and my 2010 Tundra popped on the dreaded check engine light and took to local toyota dealer and was given a $3k bill ....... so I had them turn it off and drove the 1.5 hrs. home. Next time it started it came back on. The mechanic said it might go into "limp" mode but didn't know when so I am wondering what might happen if I try to drive the 1000 miles or so home? ........ Also, if I can turn off the code with code reader OR by disconnecting battery, which I read about, will that help delay the inevitable and allow me to return home to get a better handle on the issue and/or find cheaper parts? Lastly, is it possible to do the reset after each time it goes back on after the 2nd cold start?, which I read elsewhere...... as this would allow me to return home.
Thanks in advance for the responses
