Got lucky boys. House is fine but no power probably til next week. Lost a tall pine on the corner of my property and it fell on a couple lines while blocking the road. Wouldn't matter if we cleared it though because just one house down, on the same side of the street, a white oak blew over and blocked that part of the road.

    20230523_170612.jpg 20230523_165705.jpg 20230523_165751.jpg 20230523_165751.jpg20230523_172948.jpg20230523_165711.jpg 20230523_172818.jpg

A lady's car is underneath it but miraculously wasn't crushed. She just bought it too.

Me and the family are at my mom's apt enjoying the AC and a hot meal. I gotta generator keeping the freezer and fridge food until power comes back.

This happened on such a busy week - school is wrapping up and Memorial Day weekend plans are nigh. Managed to rescue a bird that was soaked and exhausted on the ground.

Found another one that wasn't so lucky...
    20230523_172525.jpg20230523_170922.jpg

Told my 4 year old he made it through his first tornado, then realized it's my first too. Was stuck at work hunkered down with crying kiddos so I wasn't able to be home and help - luckily I gotta strong woman holdin it down. Took me 3 tries to make it to my driveway as all my usual routes were blocked by downed trees.

    Sequoia didn't come out unscathed:
    20230523_170353.jpg

Cracked the corner of the windshield when the basketball goal fell on it. Don't think the paint got scratched.

Anyway, can't imagine how ppl in Tornado Alley feel with their massive amounts of destruction. This little bit of action is enough for me. I'll stick to hurricanes.

I just read about the tornado and immediately thought of you. Glad you made it through okay. I heard a couple of construction workers weren't so lucky.

Whew!!! Thank the Lord everyone is safe! Hurricane Katrina instilled a deep hatred of pine trees for this exact reason. And make sure you have your chain saw sharpened!

    Glad you’re ok!

we got a direct category 3 165mph tornado hit in January this year

we’re on our 3rd adjuster. First one took his own life from depression and the second one just left the company Monday.

we’re still in temporary housing and the insurance company hasn’t paid 1 penny towards my tools or lawn equipment that we’re damaged

I’m not happy to say the least

    Glad all are well.

We left our place in Conroe ~2pm...and got the warning on our phones by the time we hit Houston.

Was this south of the lake?

If it was cedar, yes. It's craptastic pine and you don't even wanna use it for firewood cause it'll gum up your chimney lol

They sub out all the property and consumables claims tons third party who runs it through software. After that it’s depreciated and a depreciated value claim total is presented.

If you buy something that’s on the list and submit a receipt for replacement value you can be eligible to receive reimbursement for the difference between full value and the depreciation amount you received.

The problem lies in the fact that you might turn in 200 items, and the funds received initially will buy 2 items.

Im not down with being punished financially for a natural disaster, having to replace items that were already paid for

    It’s a circus
