Cool. My LX is 3595 front and 4300 rear. Wonder why the Sequoia’s rear is rated a whole 20lb less.

Both are higher than the Tundra’s rear axle at 4150lb.

Changed my oil, oil filter, cabin air filter, engine air filter, and rotated tires this weekend. 25k miles. First time doing maintenance on the Sequoia since I had the free ones.
Tire rotation wasn't as smooth as my last 2 tundras. The wheels were difficult to get off the hubs. Had to break out the 4lb sledge to hit the tires on 3 of the 4. When putting them back, it was kinda nice having it sit centered on the hubs, but I could tell it was kinda stiff to put on and had to be a lil more careful running the lugs up to have the tire/wheel mount flush. Dropped and torqued them up.
Oil change wasn't bad. Kinda made a mess towards the end of the drain as it ran down the oil pan onto my plates. Got the fumoto valve on and will be set next time.
The oil filter wasn't quite ideal as I went through the TRD PRO skid plate access panel. We'll the little cap plug on the bottom of the canister was stuck and the entire canister came off with it, so the residual oil left in it splashed out a bit and got on back side of skid plate. Swapped that oil canister for the metal one that was donated by a member here a while back. Swapped the internal metal core easily and put back up. Will probably order the hose attachment to plug up into it to minimize the mess possibility next time. It was nice to get under it a bit this weekend. Made me miss my lifted tundra because it was SO freaking easy to get under with a large bucket to drain straight into.

Wife and I took it on a short little trip together and actually took the sequoia instead of her van since we left the kiddos back with family including the van. we usually take the van for the better gas mileage, but this was only about 500 mile round trip. Wife really enjoyed the ride (as did I) and with us taking all 4 car seats out, it was nice to fold the seats down (2nd & 3rd row both) for storage. The ride was smooth and comfy as well as the dual temps for us as she's cold natured and i'm hot natured. Surprisingly, i ran it about 100 miles after a fill-up with our speed set at 69. Averaged 19-19.4 (as shown in pic below). Apparently, my truck and I are both on the same page when it comes to our enjoyment and comfort at 69:rolleyes:. I had the tires all inflated to 38 psi and saw about 1 psi +/- variance the whole trip. I've got the cat shields on mine, so i didn't stress over cat thieves. Wife REALLY wants an SUV now, but unfortuntely won't be a Sequoia since we need more rear storage with 4 kids that the sequoia is neglecting to offer.

Anybody hit intermediate/mildly difficult offroad trails in their Sequoia? Hows it do? Does the rear suspension have much travel being independent?

I am considering one to replace my GX460 for the extra power of the 5.7L for towing, but I wanna be able to wheel it once I get to my destination. I am talking about things like Moab or other trails in southern Utah.

I also have my F150 that is on 35's and has the factory E-locker. It does well offroad but the wheelbase is the major hangup(literally and figuratively). Even mild obstacles present an issue, which I would think the Sequoia would handle much better with the 120ish inch wheelbase.

I know that Elka and Dobinsons have shocks, and there are lockers and stuff available if things get real wild.

Installed the ICS-Fab plate to do away with suction cup mounts. This will also hold my iPad Pro to hide the head unit until I can swap it. Have a stack of RAM mounts I picked up cheap off of CL. When I get my setup configured I will post an update pic.

    Nothing sensational, more convenience.

Added Dobinsons 1.75 IMS kit at 180k miles. Surprised at the difference. Expected minimal results but it was very noticeable. Kinda mad I waited 11 months to install them. :bananadead:

Good to see we have our own section now.

Heres mine, got a Rola hitch carrier for long road trips, now my Boston can make the jump to his crate.

I have some Lexus GX460 wheels for it as well, not sure on what color to powder coat the wheels yet, Charcoal or Black going to go up to 275/70/18's this summer.

Black mirror caps and door handles sitting in the garage waiting to be installed.

Also going to get the LED headlights and the TRD replica grille.

No lift though. I'll leave that to my Tundra. This thing rides so nice....

Installed tandem air spring spacers and Bilstein 5100s in the rear.

Installed freedom off-road coil over and jba off-road upper control arm on the driver front.

Still need to install the jomax customs front sway bar end links and dobinsons diff drop--and the passenger front coilovers and jba arm. Just ran out of time.

    Before starting work:

Only pic I took during install--will get more pics tomorrow:

Put on the aFe dry air filter. Seems to drive the same with no whistle, so I'm happy. Had a talk with their customer service since I had gotten the cleaner without the filter. Found out the filter for the sequoia was on back order. They offered the oil version with the cleaners/oils at no cost and not asking for other cleaner back, but I declined being that the back log was only a few weeks. I think when I bought the filter and cleaner, they were 20% off. They included a calendar too at no charge when the filter came in.

Anyone know or is familiar with the rear diff breather on the 2nd gens? It's a simple mod that I did with my 2017 tundra. But I don't know if the parts are the same. Also not sure what route and where to put it. I've seen somewhere a guy ran it right next to his fuel fill up behind his fuel door.
    20240121_171429.jpg

Also, I'm assuming the front diff and all are vented high in the engine bay like my 2017 tundra was too right?

Taking the 2020 grille apart to get painted 202 black for the 2011 Sequoia, that Proto pliers and that torch were the ticket to getting the clips apart. Didn't break any.
