I tried using AA when I first bought my truck in 2020. It was a glitchy and unreliable piece of crap. I immediately disabled it after several attempts to make it work.
For the last 3 years I only use bluetooth and pair my phone for listening to pandora or making phone calls. Navigation is done on my phone and my 55yr old eyes are only getting worse.

Has AA gotten any better since then ?
If not... is there a wireless solution that will enable me to project my Google Maps / Navigation screen onto the radio display instead of trying to view the phone ?

Please speak to me like im 12 years old. AV tech is my big weakness.

    Thanks in advance !

Since 2020 they have had some updates yes. Would definitely be worth trying again. If your head unit was the kink in the hose though, you might not see much improvement.

It'd be pricey but I would imagine a whole new touch screen unit with Android Auto would be a major upgrade

I did manage to update my app a few days ago and everything launched fine. I even picked up the Motorola wireless dongle gizmo. Still seems to be working OK.

Have you checked to see if the radio itself needs an update installed?
