I’ve unfortunately found a crack on one of the driver side lower control arm mount. I’m just wondering how could this have happened. The truck hasn’t seen dirt or hard driving in a long time.

it’s currently in the process of getting fixed by being welded with adding gussets and other structural reinforcements

Yep, sent harder than the kit/truck can handle. That’s one area that should be plated and reinforced. Along with the front frame rails, engine strut braces and rear frame/ trussing

Technically speaking, a crack could have started a while ago when flogging it with haste, then over time that crack propagates into what you have now.

Stop drill it until you get it replaced, if it is absolutely necessary to drive on it.

His issue is the pivot point not the arm

    Wow, that blows.

Looks like you are running aftermarket arms. They may be transferring too much energy through the bushings and into the frame, as opposed to the OEM rubber bushings in the arms which absorb so much more than poly bushings do. It could also be a combination of those arms and a high caster alignment putting stress on that mount, as that kind of "twists" the bushings forward during the alignment process.

Could have also had some crazy rock or something hit the mount at some point and it cracked over time.

It’s definitely dirtking long travel. So I’m absolutely going to say pushing harder than expected. Lol

Not sure if the alignment cam was loosened for the second pic, if not it’s upside down and is likely responsible for that crack.

The front of the truck is a Dirt King LT setup with triple bypasses.

You brought up a good suggestion on too much Caster in the alignment. The truck is currently getting fixed along with cam tab gussets so I’ll re-evaluate my caster settings
