You guys are maybe seeing hyperflash without headlights running because the truck runs your turn signal bulb circuit also as a running light, I wager that's the issue.

Personally I eliminated hyperflash by running my own plug-and-play relays of sorts. I bought the harnesses from Amazon for $20, replacing the plugs with correct ones for $12 from eBay, and then screwed the resistors onto scrap aluminum plates to help keep them cool and away from other wiring. Done and done, no hyperflash, and been working perfectly for the last 15k miles / all winter. I used stainless zipties to secure the plates up front by the radiator.

    Premade harness and resistors:

Everything you’re talking about affects the daytime running lights. So I imagine the hyper flash is due to the fact that in various conditions you have extra load on the flasher circuit or not due to the use of the day time running lamps.

    Clearly you need more resistance.

Get PPF installed on those headlights to prevent the lens from hazing.

Well, only had for a few days now, but not one instance of hyper flash. I will update for sure if experience that. Installed the resistors beforehand (not sure why they don't ship already set-up) and then also zip tied the 'bulk' of all the wires, once everything is connected. Then made sure to not reuse oem bolts, but the supplied new ones. Also just left the way it was shipped with the seq sequence set-up instead of regular turn signal option.

Another reason to go with the red. Still might ppf for added protection from rocks/debris and the clear reverse led portion. Had black housing trd pro headlights PPF'd right after install.

or just leave orig shipping film on lol ...

Damn. Pretty much the exact same thing I did. Guess I’ll have to do some trouble shooting.

Update, installed that solid state relay and it appears it disables the DRL for the halogen model Tundras and it also seems the hyperflash has gone bye bye. Like another thread states, it does remove the blinker "sound" being solid state and all. But F it, hyperflash seems to be gone so I am happy.

Thus, anyone with halogen DRL's that wants to install XB LED heads and tails from Morimoto, you need to install the aftermarket relay to avoid hyperlfashing.

Looked out at my truck this morning and the right taillight is hanging out. It was not hit with anything. When I get home this afternoon I’ll check it out better. :annoyed:

I had something similar happen to me except it was the entire tail light hanging off of the truck. If yours is the same as mine, you'll have broken tabs from the tail lights where the hex screws are screwed in.

I had to request a replacement to get it fixed.

I suspect that with how the tabs were manufactured, once you screw into the bed's associated screw points, it creates too much stress between them causing it to eventually fail and break.

I bought them from Headlight Revolution so I emailed them about it. I was on the phone waiting for 50 minutes and just couldn’t take it. Waiting to hear from them.

I purchased mine through a third-party distributor. They requested photos similar to the ones @WILLINH provided. After that, they stated that the tail lights were on back order, so I had to wait a few months until I got my replacement. No muss, no fuss after that. I believe I even mentioned it back in November in this thread:

so the right side was replaced 2 weeks ago by Headlight Revolution.
The left side fell out this morning while I was out with my friend. The tabs also broke on the inside just like the right side. This is what I recovered from it falling out.

iI had Winjet Renegade tail lights a year ago and the tabs broke on them too.
Never a problem with the OEM I had for 3 years. Good thing I still have them. I do not tighten the crap out of them so I’m wondering is it the truck or cheap Chinese plastic.

Sucks to see the tabs fail like that. I wanted to order those lights. I live on a very rocky dirt/gravel road. Worried the vibration would just break those tabs with one drive on my road.

I've been running the Morimoto XB Gen 2 headlights since I got the truck, and I've been running the XB tails since February without issues.

Today I get hyperflash on passenger side out of nowhere, come home and get intermittent hyperflash on driver side. No hyperflash using hazard lights.

    Any ideas?
