Twice now I've lost brake pressure due to broken failing brake lines. The truck is currently in the shop for repair of the rear brake line splitter above the rear differential. The first time the brakes failed, it was the driver side upper line that comes down from the master cylinder. (Metal line). I'm just not sure if I trust this vehicle anymore when it comes to towing my boat or trailer. I'm also wondering if the lines are failing due to my mechanic putting the truck up on his lift. Could the stress on the frame be causing enough flex to cause the brake lines to start leaking? The truck was originally in the shop for a wheel bearing + front struts+ upper ball joint replacement.

How often has the brake fluid been changed? Where are you located? Looking at the failure point should give some info if it was caused by corrosion or stress.

Wisconsin resident. I bought the truck at 123,000 mi. Currently at 163,000. Just wondering if anyone has an estimate on a complete brake line replacement cost.
