I was servicing my OEM head unit (had to clean the tuning knob, it was acting up), and noticed the gears in the tape drive had partially split, which was causing it to catch and sound warbly while playing tapes. I'm assuming the only way to easily fix this would be to replace the head unit, but I'm also thinking of using Fusion 360 or something to model and resin 3D print replacements if I need to. Does anyone have better ideas?

With this being the only thing in the truck that doesn't work properly, it's not super high on my priorities list. I know tape is a dead format, but it would totally add to the cool factor of my truck. I would post pics but I can't find the one I took while I head the head unit open.

Post a pic of what head unit you have. Someone may sell you (or give you) their OEM unit if they still have it laying around.

Will do. I’ll snap a pic tomorrow morning!
