Finished up my install of the Toytec Aluma 2.0 coilovers as well as the Camburg UCAs. Overall the install went pretty smooth, but there was definitely some challenges. Experienc below (Warning Pic Heavy):

    Here is how it started:

    image15.jpg

I sprayed all the bolts a few times over the course of a week with PB blaster, that made removal of all the hardware easy. I didn't have one bolt/nut give me a hard time. Removing the coilover and UCA was a breeze and took about 20-30 mins tops, I thought I was on a roll and that this whole project was going to be a piece of cake. WRONG! I got to the notorious ball joint that needed to be pressed out.

    image16.jpg

Even with the ball joint press that i rented from autozone it was still difficult and awkward. But with determinition i got it out. Pressing the new one it was just as challenging even with it sitting in the freezer before hand. By far the hardest part of this whole operation and took about 85% of the install time.

    Old vs New:

    image12.jpg

Had to remove the sway bar link in order to get the new coilovers in since they were longer. Ordered some extended sway bar links. Coilover bolted right in:

    image11.jpg

Got the Camburg ball joint pressed in:

    image10.jpg

Greased up the UCA and installed that, put everything back in and boom im done!

    image1.jpg

Just had to repeat that on the other side and the total install took about 4-6 hours.

    image6.jpg image4.jpg

Off to the aligment shop and then out to give it a test ride.

Right now im measuring at about 23" hub to fender, hoping it settles a little bit because its a tad squatty and I want it to be level. Can't wait to see how it feels!

Coilovers settled to about 22.5" on the passenger side and 22" on the driver side, adjusted the driver side coilver up 1/2" for the lean and now sitting at 22.5" on both sides. These things are insanely smooth and ride great, loving them so far.

Nice build! What is your leaf pack plan? I need me some but wondering what you were going with

Thanks! Right now im plannig on getting the Deaver leaf pack which should lift about 1" above stock, smooth out the ride and increase travel.

Beware with Deavers. Not saying they're bad but they're not made to hold hardly any weight. So with your shell and anything in the back, you'll definitely see a drop in height.

I have also hear that as well, which is holding me back at the moment...I have read about others have the same issue. I'm 99% sure im keeping the shell so the leaf pack plans could change in the future. I wonder if the could custom build a pack to handle weight or just go with Alcan??

Found this little wrench in the garage while doing some clean up, perfect fit for the suspension maxx extended links.

Black Friday deals are going on over at ToyTec. How are you liking their coilovers? I might pull the trigger. I'm due for some shocks.

Little update. Added flush center caps, really like the look. Put on some roof racks and built a platform in the bed.

Finally got around to getting the @Archive garage MD springs installed. Pretty straightforward install with no problems. Definitely recommend a buddy or two, these things were heavy.

    988CBC3D-BE25-4988-8392-5D475B213E1C.jpg AE942888-8C89-4D5E-841B-E19819C69AAA.jpg 65D7336A-FD2F-40E5-AE45-60633310C0D2.jpg 7B6C5FEB-8C2A-42C0-B541-D5F8E41EB81C.jpg 98A3AC17-FB53-4C3A-9125-117AB9C55555.jpg 8A85715C-0E4D-4E43-8AE2-E2ED32816C25.jpg

Overall these things rock ride well and flex incredible. They hold weight extremely well too. Have 300lbs+ in the rear and still gave me about 2” of lift. Overall sitting at 24” hub to fender. Axle to frame is 11.5” (stock height is 9.5”)

Shocks are the limiting factor now for droop.

Those leaf packs look real beefy - nice quality. The overload is much closer to stock thickness compared to my ATS HD setup.

Did you reuse your stock shackles?

Super beefy, these are only medium duty and got 2” of lift with about 300lbs in the back. Ya I reused my stock shackles
