6 in lift kit on a 2wd. Done by previous owner. Don't blame me.
I have a 2014 Tundra that just had a new tranny installed about 3 weeks ago. I plan on taking it back to the mechanic but wanted to ask on here first. When I start the truck and press on the brake, I can switch from Park to any other gear but it will not engage. Need help.

Make sure the cable did not pop off the selector lever at the transmission...and that it is not broken. Prior to my transmission install the cable popped twice and eventually broke and was replaced when the new transmission went into place. if the cable is ok, was the transmission new or used? Truck should be off and made immobile on any incline/surface so it won't roll away or over you...

Well it's not the cable. I'll be towing it back to the shop tomorrow since the transmission is under warranty.

Update - looks like the transmission filter fell out. Must have happened when the transmission was shipped.
