Did you mean you’re sold against the ReadyLift? Is that $3500 installed?

I stand corrected! I meant that I am not convinced that the RL kit is the right lift for my Sequoia. That is his ball park estimate. I looked at his FB page and it looks like he lifts mostly domestic trucks. Not sure if it is similar, but the other shop I mentioned earlier lifts mostly Toyotas. I looked at their FB page and they work on a lot of Tacomas and Tundras. Will try to get a hold of them.

Regardless of which way you go, go with your gut. Buy once, cry once. Even if you need to wait a little bit and save some funds, it will be better and less expensive than going one route, then changing directions down the road. If you're on Facebook there's a 2nd gen sequoia group and there's a lot of local guys willing to help turn a wrench for a case of beer.

I joined the Sequoia FB page, and my status is still pending. Thank you everyone once again for the information. El Chingon, I will definitely take your advice. I would rather save up for a legitimate lift and have it installed professionally. I am hoping to find some members in that FB page who can recommend a reputable shop here in the central coast.

I also wanted to ask, what do you all think of a ToyTec lift for the front, and Bilstein 5125 for the rear? I saw a lifted Sequoia in one of the pages I was browsing and the owner post pictures of the lift. I will try and copy and paste the link later on my phone.

Just remember that if you're lifting it more than 2.5 inches you'll likely need adjustable upper control arms (SPC, Total Chaos etc) to ensure you can get a perfect alignment. Starts to get expensive. There's no real way (and there shouldn't be) to do any lifts of more than 1-2 inches cheaply.

Hey man. Nice looking Sequoia. Yes, I was also advised by an acquaintance who owns a lifted Tacoma to literally do everything right the first time. Doing just that will ensure me peace of mind and assurance that things won't break down somewhere down the road. I am still browsing online and reading posts on the FB group. I am still trying save a decent amount of cash and taking my time.

This is what I was wondering as I read thru this thread. I know the UCA is recommended on the Tundras after 2.5 or so.
Looks like I need to start saving for a lift.

I second that. I decided to postpone my lift and save up a bit more so I can have a proper build. Proper parts of the lift itself is around $3k give or take. Add labor to that and it will be around the $4ks. I will give 88Rotors a call to see an accurate estimate. They specialize in Toyotas and offer financing I believe. My Sequoia needs new tires soon, and that is my priority for now. Best of luck.

For what it is worth, the type of lift is totally irrelevant to the damage seen to that dust cap in the picture.. All that matters would be the total length of the shock eyelet to eyelet/mounting surface...

A stock length shock and a ready lift spacer that is the exact same total length of any coilover will do the same thing...

I just switched out from my RL kit to the Ella setup... Nothing wrong RL kit (had it for over 6 months - no issues, and it is relatively cheap with install it came out around $1.5k), but got a good deal on Elkas...

I would second that, sort of pricey... But on the other hand, high-end suspension will be twice as much, my shocks + dobinsons + plates + control arms were close to $5k... add install on top of that and you need some money saved...

Did you buy direct from Elka or from Tandem? I'm in Canada and looking for a good kit. I really want the Dobinsons IMS and I think the price is about the same as the Elka set up.

Good day everyone. Reviving my old thread here, but I was able to contact a shop close to where I live. I spoke to the technician and he informed me that they specialize in Toyota rigs, and have lifted quite a few Sequoias in the past. He quoted me $1200 for Bilstein 5100's front and rear with the front raised 2 inches. He also informed me that the rear can be lifted once I bring in the truck in their shop.

I am now debating weather I should go with the 2 inch lift or just save up a bit more and get the full on 3 inch lift with upgraded UCAs. I remember a few members telling me that 3 inch lift will put more strain on components and would affect the handling and the ride quality of my Sequoia. I will admit that I like the looks of a 3 inch, but would never sacrifice reliability and ride comfort for it. This might be a dumb question, but does doing a 3 inch lift with taller tires make the truck feel taller significantly? By that I mean can you notice a significant taller ride while driving with a lift compared to stock?

    Hope everyone's doing well.

That is the look I like. Do you have any more pictures of your Sequoia?
