Why not order the factory light bar switch?

well for one, I would still have to tap into a factory wire for the back-light function to work which is why im looking for a plug and play harness (so I dont have to tap into factory wiring). Also Ive got the upgraded lights which is on a can-bus and Ive read that it would be a ton of trouble to get it to work properly. I may be wrong...I don't know a ton about wiring and electrical. But this is what I have read on the forum

So would that mean I can use the OEM switch with an aftermarket light bar? My main concern is tapping into or splicing factory wires. Basically borrowing power for illumination back light from another switch. Just looking to see if there was an alternative before tapping/splicing

Ha funny. We have two posts on similar subjects right next to each other here. I ordered Cali Raised but I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that they may have a bad batch of switches

I ordered these and it works perfectly for the icon backlight https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CP987BN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Just tap into the brownish/whitish wire from one of the other switches.

Does your indicator light switch work as intended? When did you order your switch?

Good to know on the wire. I keep my fogs on all the time so I just wired illumination with the ACC. Yeah everything works great. Order about a week ago.

That's the one! I went down below the tape to give myself a little more room to attach the T-tap rather than right up next to the harness where you have it circled.

So my switch looks just like yours except instead of a yellow wire I have a red wire. I got everything hooked up and working exactly like it should (on/off, back light etc.) The only function I cannot get to work is dimming with the dash lights when I change the brightness of the dash. I can’t figure out what I’ve done wrong. Are you able to dim your switch down with the rest of the dash?

Well shoot, I didn't even look at the brightness variations until you said something. Not sure why the resistor wouldn't just work across the board. Mine doesn't change either. Does your indicator light work properly? The blue just doesn't match the more whitish blue of the OEM switches either. I just decided to unhook the white wire and go by feel until I can get it figured out here. I honestly think they had a bad batch or I did something wrong obviously.

Ive gotten all of the functions to work except the brightness variations. The color is not perfect but it is VERY VERY close and im happy with it (the iphone camera enhanced the color differences. It does not look that different in person) . Unless you really study the switch, you cant tell its aftermarket.
