Gentex '453' style mirror in gently used condition, model ZTVHL3. Note the keystone, which is standard style, but confirm yours before buying. Install info is in this thread!

Mirror is *VERY* crisp, no fading, blurring, or browning. Good as just a regular mirror. I can toss in some compatible windshield wedges by request if you don't have a standard tombstone!!

    $40 $35 $30 shipped
    .

Bought on eBay from a well-known seller for more than what I'm asking.

It is autodimming. Supports Homelink v3. Should work w/all older garage door openers (2010ish and earlier, pre-"Security 2.0")

Comes with all you see, including the labeled harness, cord concealer.

See the pics for proof of function, and LED coloring.

Give me about an hour for it to turn dark, I'll hook it up and check. I think they are, but not 100% sure.

No backlight on the buttons, but I'm seeing online where other mirrors of model "GNTX-453" do have either blue or green backlight, so I'm wondering if it's just the harness isn't pinned for it.

If you want to double-check, do this:

    Go to Bob's Mirrors.

Fill out the contact form, or call, or email. This is what you'll want to ask:

I'm interested in one of your wiring harnesses. I have a Gentex mirror, model# ZTVHL3 (GNTX-453). If I buy your 10-pin wiring harness, will it support backlight on the buttons, or is that even a feature available for this specific model? Is there any way to tell if the mirror has backlit buttons without a harness?

None that I know of. Gotta drop the overhead console. But it's only a couple of screws and some finagling on the DC, if I recall.

Along with what @Shifty said, by taking it down, you'll be able to see how many conductors you have.

As one of your fellow 06 SR5 DC owners found out, he only had 3 wires, which only gave him the Personal Light function.

    Overhead console swap

    Overhead 3 wire.jpg

I'll defer to @shifty` for what conductors are needed for mirror.

That thread Bubba linked is a great read for the conductors. But he also posted some great instructions over here explaining removal. You can see the two screw holes to the left and right of the pink marker, then there's the 3 snaps.

If yours has the power mirror wiring in place, the OEM connector is a flat-7 like this, easy to Posi-tap off, or maybe someone sells a plug-and-pay adapter (Bob's Mirrors might). But only has constant power and ground, if memory serves.

That's a bummer. Even if you had the 12-pin grid Bubba showed a couple replies up with only 3 wires in it, you can easily use a good tap, like Positap, to tag out of the wiring and make the mirror work.

I also have the entire replacement roof wire that adds the overhead console and 7-pin rear view mirror harness. I show it on page 2 of that "over here" link in my last reply. I'd totally sell it, but you're into the triple-digits on wiring at that point.

I'll throw this out there in case it helps you but you may already know.

red wire = constant 12 vdc
    white w/black tracer = Gnd
black wire is also a gnd that's used when interior lights(Front and Back) are commanded on from Body ECU when a door gets opened for example.

Actual number of wires and colors on the Gentx 453 would be nice to know also and even what the stickers say.

The wiring feels OEM, but not knowing source car makes it more difficultThey're labeled from the seller as:

Pink: "Ignition hot wire Power without key"
    Red: "Constant wire"
    Black: "Ground"
Blue: "Connect to reverse hot wire"

To get it to power up I was using a 9v and tapping pink to (+) and black to (-).

This is an auto-dim mirror, so Blue wire is obvious: this toggles auto-dim when reversing, else you may not see what you're backing up into. Pink is ACC for the Homelink feature to only work while key is in, best guess. Red is obviously all-time 12v, I'm assuming for memory/compass preservation. Back is ground.

I'm not sure 100% what would happen if the blue reverse trigger wire was unhooked, or fed 12v constant, but I'm assuming when it's hot, autodim won't work. Info I found online suggested people just don't bother hooking it up and dealt with dimness in reverse at night time.

Further adding to this. I've confirmed the pinout.

    Taken from another forum:

    upload_2023-3-20_21-54-35.jpg

That jibes with this mirror's setup and the labels, and their function with a 9v battery (note: You need to think of this in reverse of the above image, use the blank wire as a key or note the "10" and "6" position molded into the connector):

Bump for price drop, and I can toss in some compatible windshield tombstones if the buyer needs them. C'mon folks!

You can totally make it work. If you're like me and you can't find* an ACC switched power wire in the ceiling, and you don't want the Homelink to be usable 24/7, and don't want the compass on 24/7, yes, you'd need to run a switched wire.

@daveeasa may have a cool solution for that, soon.

But a lot of forums I was looking at which talk about this mirror, guys are taking the two power wires (Pink, Red) and tying them together, then putting them on constant power, then attaching ground to ground, and done.

    PRICE DROP!

This is as low as I can go. This already puts me at half what I paid for it, but it's coming with lots of install accessories.

Yours if you want it, the better 3/4 wants it off her counter. I don't mind covering the ride. Drop me a text to confirm, and I'll tag this sold then get it out the door probably Sunday/Monday.
