Man, if someone madea 10- or 12-hole wheel in that exact color for our trucks, I'd buy two full sets with spares, just to make sure I had fresh ones to rotate in. I've got a thing for the 10- and 12-hole styles, and to freshen up that classic design with some innovative, used-to-be-normal-but-vendors-are-boring-now color, holy shit. TAKE MY MONEY. It's time to start bringing the 80s wheels back, but with cooler colors.

I dunno what in the actual feck is wrong with wheel manufacturers, but their choices in wheels these days are about as boring and lacking imagination as it gets. And for those egotistical ones that think they're pushing the edge, "ugly for the sake of being different" doesn't mean you're breaking boundaries, it just means you have utter shit for taste.

    :argue:

I have a sneaky suspicion before long I'll want to refinish my wheels to be about that color. or back to hypersilver. I just know I'm not going to love the Gunmetal. I know others will, I dunno man ...
If we're betting on what the issue is, I'm going with one of the rear sensors. It's easy enough to pull em to clean.

I mean, you could be all scientific and pull codes if your reader supports. But I'm banking on sensor out back. Hopefully they're not coated in oil, or seals may be next...

Is it time to wash that beast yet?

Either way, still looks good. And after seeing your wheels, I'm realizing I said "I love 10- and 12-hole wheels" previously, but I really like how 8-hole wheels look on our trucks too.

I really like those wheels. When they're off finally... I may try to clean these up just for giggles. I don't know though. They're RUFF

Yeah, if they're proper alloy and pitting, trying to recover from that is tough. Especially if anodized and the anodizing is failing.

I took a few minutes to power up the Chinesium Mirror Cam/Reverse Cam combo on the bench. The mirror screen portion is decent. Chinesium quality of course but not bad for the $30 bucks I paid for it. The mirror itself however has a bluish tint to it so I'm not sure how great its going to be as an actual mirror. Just need to take time to route the wiring from the cig lighter plug up around to the mirror. I'll get it done this weekend. Meh.

I told them for the spare, it doesn't have to be fancy, just let it hold air.

Couldn't get a matching size spare? See that it's close but about an inch or so smaller.

Same size as the spare that it replaced. It won't see much road time (knock on wood), should I need it, its just there to get me somewhere to fix whichever tire went flat. Slightly smaller than my other tires, but better than a car with a donut spare.

Was a hell of a day, eh? Little breezy. I'm glad we're finally getting a proper-length spring for the first time I can recall in at least 5 years.

Glad you called it out :D Shocking, it is a full inch difference from 265/70 to 265/75.

Test fit done. I think the color is gonna work. It ties in with the body moulding nicely, almost exactly the same color. This gunmetal is true to the website, doesn't look darker in person like most of the other wheels I looked at.

But I'm still skeptical how I'll feel when it's wrapped in rubber and installed. Still gotta get lug nuts. Still haven't ordered TPM sensors (I think 550-0103 is the p/n for alloys like this). Still gotta pick a damn tire. Maybe by next year?

Different pics with focus on dark vs. light.

17" wheel. Probably going to end up getting a chunkier 275/70r17, but we'll see.

Hell yeah, someone needs to make this, with black lip and a classic BBS-style gold center.

I can't quite get the hue, saturation and levels right, but about like this...

appears to be missing an ear? Any exposed metal contact elements that could short out? Is the base where the bulb plugs in or the wiring pins connect on the back melted? If not, grease it up, rebulb and send it. If it is, get you one of those upgraded harnesses on the webs with separate relay and power source.

Got a link to one of those harnesses? When the battery came loose it broke a prong off the lights plug, but i dont think anything melted. I unplugged it before it could short on anything.
