I noticed some other overlanding communities share camping spots. I could not find anything in this thread. It would be great if we can start sharing. I know some people like to save them for themselves, but I think we should share best practices and spots. I will start and hopefully we can make this sticky:

I like this idea. It's always fun to find new spots in Southern California, what with the boom in camping over the last few years. Every spot is blown! If we're going to share spots, I'd also like to share the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace...

    https://lnt.org/why/7-principles

I know we all like to think we are good stewards of the land we recreate in, and many are, but I see way too many dickheads out there driving their trucks wherever the fuck they want, leaving trash behind, leaving ashes and fire rings behind, and being generally inconsiderate of the land and the people that come after them. I've only recently started visiting Anza Borrego regularly, but every time I'm out there I see trash (i've picked up full 12-packs, countless empties & caps, plastic bags, bagged dog shit, blue confetti that I can only assume was for a stupid sex reveal party), people hiking off-trail, piles of ashes & burnt rock rings, and tire tracks where they have no business being. I hope it's just because they aren't educated but I know there's a sense of good ol' 'merican entitlement as well. They don't understand (or care about) the long-term effects their behavior leaves behind, they just want to do what they want. I would like to think that anyone could read each principle and learn why it's important to do our best to follow each one. Nobody's perfect, but doing our best is the least we can do to preserve our public lands for future use.

Having said all that, I don't have any spots that have never been visited before. I have found some pretty cool ones in Inyo NF, Sequoia NF, San Bernardino NF, Anza B DSP.

OK so who has a spot in Los Padres NF Monterey Ranger District?

    Sequoia NF:

    Somewhere else in SNF:

I second what you said and it's not really that difficult to clean up after yourself. Imagine if every person that visits these spots left their garabage behind.

Those are great spots you posted. Did you happen to save the coordinates?
That was my intention with the thread. For the community to post picture of a spot they liked and coordinates. I understand that many people do not want to share, but for every 20 that don't there is 2 that do. Thanks all!

i recently started listening to the desert oracle podcast from the beginning. anyone who has even the slightest interest in the desert communities of the american southwest, go listen to it. the guy is a trip and just talks about the history, communities, the people, the places, and all the weird shit that happens in the desert

lately i've just been exploring ABDSP. nothing secret, really. fish creek wash, culp valley, blair valley. been there, done that.

these were taken off 2N19 off green valley lake rd where we had to tow our buddy's vanagon up the trail. that was fun!

We are heading out to Bishop for Memorial Day. Found a spot using google earth off of Buttermilk Rd near McGee Creek. My wife wants to go to Big Bear because it's closer but meh, I need some 395 action.
