While under my truck this weekend installing the new shocks upfront, I spotted a pea size blob of grease on the floor under the passenger side A-arm. Turns out I stopped the truck in just the right spot so the pin hole in the passenger inner CV boot was pointing down. After further investigation, I saw a stream of splattered grease above the CV boot. Not sure how long it's been leaking, but the truck is 2 years old with 19K miles, so heading to the dealer tomorrow. Anyone else had any CV boot leaking issues ? Sorry I didn't snap any pics yet.

If they are not going to be warrantied out, we do sell CV boot kits that are made from the same quality boot that is used on the race trucks and high hp sand cars. These are a more flexible rubber compared to the plastic like CV boots that are OEM. This allows them to hold up better and give it a longer life span when at higher CV angles.

Took my truck to the dealer yesterday and the mechanic and service writer call me over and say they can't warranty the CV boot. I stated the truck only has 19K miles and 2 years old. They proceed to say the suspension has been heavily modified and the CV angles are to steep. I told them the shocks are OEM Toyota TRD Pro shocks and on top of that I have a diff drop kit to help things even more. The mechanic had never had a PRO on the lift with the suspension drooped and just assumed I had modified the front end heavily. Granted the truck is beyond stock, but the front is only at a 2-1/4" lift with what I have done. They lowered the truck back down to ride height and what do ya know, the CV angles look pretty minor. The mechanic proceeded to apologize and he and the service writer both agreed it will be covered under warranty. Boot and clamps on order, waiting for a call back day or two......

Pretty crazy at only 19k miles! Glad they are going to cover it for you! Might start crawling under and wiping mine clean and inspecting after I offroad.

I felt the same way too with only 19K on the truck and a minor lift. I like to crawl under the truck every so often and do some visuals and wipe things down with alcohol or simple green. I have an appt tomorrow AM at the dealer to drop the truck off. They say a half a day turn-around, but we've all heard that before. Not sure why, but I always get nervous dropping the truck at a shop for repair work. Guess it's cuz our trucks are our babies !

Do yourself a favor and take the skid plate off before you bring it down there. Because you know they'll probably strip those screws up front that go into the plastic or forget to put half of them in there.

Appreciate that Sean, but my factory skid plate left the bldg about 18 months ago. 4 bolts holding on my homemade alum skid and they all thread into steel. Thanks bud !

So I dropped the truck off at the dealer at 7AM and it was done by 10AM. Thought removing a front axle was a little more time consuming. The boot kit came with both the inner and outer boot, so bonus for me. I thought the whole suspension had to be removed, but maybe just the brake caliper, hub assy and drop the lower control arm ? Anyone on here tackle one on a newer Tundra ? I just feel relieved it was all under warranty. Here's a few pics..........
