I'd very much consider a gmc 1500 if the afm self destruct feature were discontinued.

I just requested a price on a Titan Pro 4X. I know it is not a Tundra and have hard that Nissan's resale values suck but I plan on having this truck 10 years or more. Next purchase will take me in to retirement. If the TRD Pro had not been discontinued I probably would not be seriously considering other brands.

I would have definitely looked at the Titan if it wasn't for their new look, not too fond of it. I used to own a 2010 and loved it.

Will the cost be similar to the platinum/pro grill?

The grille itself as pictured is about $90 more than the Pro grille. Still working on the emblem.

Insert opportunity maybe for someone with access to the equipment to make a grill emblem that fits without spending $300+.

I was going to say, Ford was doing this honeycomb grills YEARS ago. It wont be long and some fabricator will have a steel option to fit it.

I am waiting to see the grill on the SR5 in the brochure or in person. The 2018 build page has a pic of a SR5 TRD and the grill is not that ugly chrome that I hate. From what I saw all I will need is surround and bulge color matched.

well I got a response from "Dan the Man" at the local Nissan dealer. Not sure about a sales dude with a moniker. He wants me to come in. I explained to him that I do not do it that way. First I work the internet then I decide which dealers I want to visit in person. Not sure if that scared him off or my mention of a Tundra being my first choice.

So instead of buying a Tundra with an ugly grille, you're thinking about buying an ugly truck?

This particular one is 53101-0C030-A0. I'm probably going to make a comprehensive thread of all the different options once I get the emblem figured out.

Looking good, keep us updated on an emblem. I might just chop off the pegs on my stock one and use adhesive on it if it doesn't look to bad.

I am sure someone will custom make all kinds of emblem options for that grille. I will then be jealous and hate myself even more for not having what others have.

Probably not because Toyota will not add a power rear slider to a DC, behind and under seat storage, and rear locker to name a few. They have decided that building a daily commuter is good enough. I think it is the California engineers and designers. Hopefully most of them stayed behind when they moved the NA headquarters.

I'm all about having people spend their hard earned money however they desire, but I would look long and hard (that's what she said) into the new Titans before putting some money down on them. Car and Driver and Motortrends long term Titans are both having enormous problems.

I read an article on the diesel but have not seen one on the gas model. Reality is I probably won't buy a Titan or a GM but I will use for leverage when I order a Tundra.
