Is that stock Pro suspension? Do those 295s rub?

Stock suspension with 1in bora wheel spacers. The tires were just a little to close to the UCA for my liking. I wasn't able to fit my pinky between the tire and UCA without the wheel spacers. Just didn't feel comfortable with it being so close. I did have to trim and push the inner wheel well liner forward. It does rub while turning backing up on the mud flaps. Doesn't bother me.
It's my daily driver, haven't actually taken it off road :anonymous:

KO2s. I haven't experienced any of the issues a few posters have mentioned on my Tundra or on my previous 4Runner. They balanced fine, are smooth, and do well in all weather conditions. We have had a few downpours recently that have been the worst I have seen in years and the tires didn't slip once. IMO they are worth the money.

According to all the tires ratings sites the BFG KO2s seem to rate the highest, but those Cooper STT Pros would look sick on the Pro. I do actually take my rigs off road, so I could justify it.

I have Ridge Grapplers in 295-70-18 and they were quiet on my 1k mile trip on the highway. I'm currently in the Rockies and have gone on some dry dirt roads and some slightly sloppy but wouldn't call them muddy dirt roads and they did well. ace38127186bcf471da60dab69c1791a_286d493ac9cd33298bbd8dd35a9920d6355101fb.jpg

Ya, I agree with you......Falken was always the tire to stay away from in my original opinion. When my buddy bought them I made fun of him for 6 months......buuuuuut....he is a crazy anal research guy and swore up and down that they where the exception......A year later and he has proven me wrong in spades........I'm also interested in some Cooper offerings....I've got another year on my tires so I will continue to watch his performnce:popcorn:

Loved Duratracs on my F350, had two sets. Only problem was they did get noisier with wear, but that's to be expected. Great looking aggressive tire, impressively good on the road for being a borderline mud tire. Some have reported they have weak sidewalls but I didn't have any issues with that.

Put a set of KO2s on my Tacoma, was very pleased with them. Quieter than my Duratracs and felt a bit more responsive on the road. Just went with a set of 275/70/18 KO2s for my Tundra and very pleased.

Nitto Trail Grappler is a great tire - I'd have to go find my FJ thread - but I got something like 80k miles out of them. I remember your name, so you might have even posted in that thread I had when the tire came out - "JimmyTheDriver"

    http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/foru...trail-grapper-295-70-17-installed-w-pics.html

If I was to get new tires for the Tundra, I'd consider the Ridge Grappler. If its anything like the slightly more aggressive Trail Grappler, its a great tire.

Falkens Suck. Go with Coops. The STMaxx is very aggressive AT. Maxx or STT depends on how much mud, snow, and ice you encounter. More ice and snow you want more of a closed tread with more rubber on the road. Sticky gumbo like we have in Tx you want a more open tread. I have not tested the Maxx yet in real deep mud but it did well in medium mud. BFGs are OK at best in mud WP_20161203_12_29_39_Pro.jpg

These are probably what I will go with due to the size availability, but the Duratracs are fantastic tires and would maybe be the route I would go if they were offered in a 34-35.

I've had multiple sets and never had a good experience with them.. Wonder if the hot desert roads here have alot to do with that. I see you're in Illinois, probably road conditions have a big impact on tire life.. And some rubber formulas are better at dealing with heat than others? Just a guess.

Mine were summer only, but were just about ready to change @35k miles on them (estimated). They got noisy around 25k, but they were also Z rated so I kind of expected it. And IL roads tend to cup your tires. Potholes everywhere.

That's kind of what I am thinking. My brother just got some for his F150 and we did an 800 mile road trip. They were pretty much as quiet as the stock tires and SO much better looking. In Utah we do mostly dry packed dirt off-roading and, obviously snow and ice, so a mud tire really isn't ideal. I'm kind of narrowing it down to the three mentioned in my original post with the Duratrac and Ridge Grapplers holding a slight edge.

We use Ridge Grapplers when we want a little more aggressive looking tire. I think they ride just as good as the G2, but look a lot better.

I have had some balance issues with my Ko2's Took a few times to get them right. In the rain on a few occasions my Trac control did kick on. I know the ridge Grapplers got rated very well in the rain. Although I have not tried them out yet.
