What was the infraction? What's a "black permit"?

Thanks, Jim! Does the cover over the connector on my mirror just pop off? Seems to be on there pretty good. Also, my mirror shows a wire that already looks like it is occupying the connector on the mirror.

Looks great homie! I'll be going this route very soon too. Love the TRD you slapped on there. I'm assuming you bought an emblem and stuck it on before the rhino?

Not my tundra but I did install a HD ironman lift kit on my buddy’s Tacoma who desperately needed it with all his weight.

Some recent work in past two weeks. Most of it due to a deer hit.

    Before:
Bedliner grille, no lift, stock bumper, bumpershellz end caps, stock fogs.

    PXL_20221011_191605058~2.jpg

    After:
Eibach Stage2R a couple weeks ago.

Front grille/bulge replacement with Attitude Black.

Shimmied in the sensor cover (new one on order)

    N-Fab M-RDS bumper

    DD SS3 Yellow fogs

Kid made some grille vinyl at school, so we went a little crazy with them as we have like 30 of each.

RC Light bar goes in soon.

Toyota emblem vinyl de-chrome.sticker being made at school next week.

Finally got tired of Sparks Parts telling me every 6-8 weeks since August that the grab handle kit would be another 6-8 weeks. Cancelled the order and bought one from a salvage business in Rancho Cordova that I found through Craigslist. http://www.toyautomartca.com/inventory/retail.htm

Worked with Serge and he said he has a bunch of 07-13 Tundras with the handle and pillar trim, both gray and tan. $50 shipped to Colorado. It was in good shape although a bit dirty. It was missing one of the two oval flange washers but there is one in the pillar trim on the 14-21 trucks. I had him include both bolts and washers, one of which works. The other is too short but again the one from the pillar trim on my truck worked so the only thing I had to buy was the 1/4-20 extruded U-nut. Super easy to cut the replacement pillar trim with a sharp utility knife and the installation was a breeze with the instructions from Sparks.

No knock on Sparks, as they can't control when Toyota fills their orders, but it was nice saving $130, and not having to wait any longer.

I used several combinations of cleaners and methods. It got clean enough that after installation you can't really tell that is not an original part of the truck I bought last August with ~9,500 miles.

However, I am not in any way OCD about how clean my truck is. I live where dirt roads are a weekly if not daily thing, so truck washes are infrequent and my perception of how clean a truck is(or needs to be) is different than most(?)

I'm in no rush but I've been eyeing that exact unit for some time and was wondering how your experience was with it. Gotta say from many others have only heard good things. Good luck with it.

Have the same one in my truck. Been running for over a year now. It’s had a few minor hiccups, it overall I’m pleased it with and looks really nice in the dash.

What did you have to cut?

I find car-part.com useful for finding parts from auto wreckers.

You have to cut a notch on the bottom tab of the pillar trim to allow for wiring to pass through. You can see it in the instructions from Sparks. http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/PKTUNGRABinst.pdf

I have used car-part.com in the past but they were no help this time.

Spent a couple hours with son, mounting the RC light bar. Super tight clearances with the bumper, where we have the DD Fogs and because we used nuts/bolts for the NFab skid plate (we will get a rivnut gun soon).

Final wiring tomorrow. We did test it and it works.

I really really like the drill rivnut adapter I picked up, I did a few others by hand previously, but this last time I had had enough trying to use the cheater method with a few nuts, and spent the $35. And it works so well. Would recommend. Perfectly installed rivnuts in seconds, very little effort.

    I'll have a look.

I can see it being super beneficial for the NFab skid. As it stands, we have next to no access to the lightbar bolts and fog bolts, aside from sticking fingers in a few openings.

Just did a quick touch up job to the finish and put some lights on. Really like the looks of it.
It was nice to meet your brother and see his collection of Toys. Great guy but I may have to keep some distance. After we loaded the bumper up he said “You know, I’ve got a Dirty Deeds 8” in the shed. Wanna see it?” Like a Tundra crack dealer. I had to just say no.
